What a wonderful way to return from the wild! After 6days in the bush, our trip to Cape Town was perfect! We stayed at the lovely Commodore Hotel. Near the water, restaurants and convenient for food and shopping! The staff was exceptional....they guided us to exactly what we wanted for the 3 day stay. Arranged a city tour, hired a car for us to visit wine country and chose the perfect tour guide for our quick stay.

Breakfast was delightful, more choices than anyone could desire. The beds were outstanding and just what I needed to rest my safari bones:-)

If you stay here, dine at BAIA Seafood Restaurant. An exceptional wine list, a terrific staff at meeting needs for an impromptu anniversary dinner among friends. We celebrated our 25th in a big way!

Room Tip: Cape View on upper floors was perfect.....table mountain was also visible from the balcony!

The Commodore is a good hotel to stay in. Very comfortable and value for money. Loved my stay. Highly recommended. Especially for the good and close location near the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Great service provided and the staff is very helpful. Good, good, good!

Room Tip: Front view facing rooms.

We arrived late at night in a rainstorm but were greeted warmly. Next morning the sun was out and the view from our balcony toward Table Mountain was magnificent. We had booked through Expedia and asked for a view room. The twin-bedded room was comfortable but not overly spacious. The breakfast buffet (included in our room rate) was wonderful. This hotel is in an older building apparently left over from the British admiralty. It has been modernized just enough and still retains the elegance of a bygone era. It is within walking distance of the Victoria and Alfred waterfront and the Hop-On-Hop-Off bus stop. I recommend booking through Expedia or Booking.com to get the best rate. The rate we paid was about half of the rack rate offered on the hotel's website (Legacy Hotels). We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed herewith my wife and daughters when. Touring Cape Town. It is a Venice property just ashore walk to the waterfront. Outstanding breakfast buffet with fruits, meats, cheeses and the like. We even had an occasional bird fly into the room. Just. Outstanding stff, the hotel GM greeted s in the lobby each morning and always inquired about our r set full sleep. We had an issue with Internet and they worked hard t take care of the problem.

After a long day of travel we arrived at the Commodore and the greeting was friendly, professional and check-in was so easy - then a lovely glass of sherry was offered to help ease the stress of the day - a lovely surprise. From the friendly greeting of the doorman (who we decided should be called Smiley in his Top Hat - a welcome sight every time you walked up to the door), right down to the chocolate on the pillow and the staff knocking on the door in the evening asking if there was anything we needed, there wasn't anything missed. The food was wonderful, a great buffet breakfast with something to suit everyone! We were only a short walk from the V&A Waterfront and everything that offered, trips and wonderful shopping. We had a trip pick up that was late and the concierge tracked them down for us - we weren't forgotten. The staff provided local knowledge on where to shop (other than the tourist shopping) and we made some great buys. The bed & shower were great, and after nearly 4 weeks in Africa - a great way to finish the last 5 days of our holidays.

Room Tip: We didn't ask for a special room and got a lovely room with a view of Table Mountain!

The Commodore is a fantastic place to stay if visiting cape town, it is ideally located on the water front area which is a safe easy walk to get too. The staff are friendly, food was good and gym although small had everything you need.
