This hotel is situated a 3 minute walk to the V&A Waterfront. The concierge and reception staff were all very efficient, friendly and polite. Checkin was very fast and on departure they call a taxi for us to take us to our next hotel. The lady on the 'Trips and Excursions' desk was super helpful. Gave us maps, restaurant recommendations in the area and also at our next destinations.
The hotel its self is a little dated but not scruffy. All areas are clean and well maintained apart from the air on in the rooms, this is very dated!
The breakfast was good value, a buffet selection with endless cups of tea and coffee.
The location of your room will make a difference to your stay. We got a room on the 2nd floor overlooking the car park. It was very noisy as there was also some building work been carried out in the car park. As we were only staying 2 nights and were out site seeing or at the Waterfront I didn't asked to be moved but a longer stay I would have done. I did mail ahead of our stay for a courtyard facing room after reading reviews on here but it wasn't answered. I would recommend doing this but making sure you get a response.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the courtyard as theses are quieter and have a balcony.

This is situated in a great location next to the Waterfront which has lovely cafes and restaurants. The hotel itself is average at best. My parents room the air conditioner didn't function and was next to a slamming hall door all night. They finally changed the room for them. Some of the concierges were great on ideas for restaurants and others were not great at all. The lobby is always packed with tour groups with huge amounts of luggage and we found that the most annoying. You had to wait for an elevator through the groups. The breakfast is excellent and had many choices in their buffet.

very nice hotel situated across the road from the waterfront. the situation could hardly be better. the staff are extremely helpful and pleasant. rooms spacious and clean. breakfast is varied buffet style with coffee/tea served and topped up. the outside enclosed courtyard can be noisy with talking and chairs moving drifting upwards to rooms. also a low pitched but quite loud city background noise. this was more noticeable as we slept with the French windows open as it was hot and the aircon was not very effective.

Room Tip: high rooms have good views of either mountains or waterfront but corridors are long. if you have walking difficulties try to be near the lifts

From the welcome to departure we couldn't fault the service. The staff were always cheerful, friendly and helpful. The rooms were very comfortable. Agree with those that say the A/C is noisy but this was a small matter. Breakfast were plentiful and you have the choice of sitting in the courtyard or inside. The lounge/ bar area was also very comfortable.
The hotel is on the periphery of the V&A waterfront and therefore it was easy to walk to. The concierge were very helpful and provided you with maps to find your way around. Thanks especially to Laurien who rang Table Mountain to check on the queue before we departed in our taxi. The hotel is well known and easy for taxis to find.
The pool area did need a bit of attention with a broom and a scrub around the edge of the pool, I did mention this to one of the management team but nothing happened, which was disappointing.
However, having been booked into a lesser (albeit 4*) hotel, by our tour operator, later in the trip, we were grateful to them for accommodating us for our last two nights in Cape Town. On arriving in the taxi Julio greeted us with a big smile and 'welcome back, welcome home'. We did feel very comfortable there, and the staff were excellent.

My children & I were not sure where we wanted to dine for a christmas lunch and ended up
at the Ports wood Restaurant on short notice, being fully booked the overflow were accommodated and seated at the sister hotel at their Clipper Restaurant.
The ambiance was peaceful and not too crowed or full as the Portswood
The service and friendliness of our waitress was awesome, the food well presented and value for the money we paid. The A'la carte set menu with reasonable portions were filling and served tastefully. Dessert was a welcoming treat. Loved the little trinket I got in my cracker..;-)
A wonderful time we enjoyed and will recommend this restaurant any time.
