“5 star accomadations”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 May 2009

We had the best time at this hotel. We stayed and week and hated to leave. The staff is wonderful, always accomadating. The food was fantastic. We had many meals at the hotel because it was so good. The rooms were nice and very clean. The spa was a must! We will definitley stay again. Loved it!

We stayed here for 3 nights and had an amzaing time. We were just 3 minutes walk from the waterfront and all the shops and restaurants.
The hotel was clean and the service excellent. We were helped to plan trips and order taxis.
We ate in the restaurant for the candlelight diner for the Earth Hour and the food was excellent. Breakfast was good each morning with a wide choice even when they were really busy.
This was a great base for visiting Cape Town

The hotel is always spotlessly clean and there are plenty of staff. Pool is small but as mainly business hotel not usually a problem getting a spot. Breakfast service patchy depending on how many people in hotel. They struggle when full - waited 40 minutes for toast 1 day
2 Minute walk to the Waterfront and much cheaper than actual Waterfront Hotels. Walk to Waterfront is safe day or night you will see a couple of beggers but they will not bother you and will always be polite
Concierge will order Taxis wherever you want to go and they are not over expensive.
Loads of local Restaurants in Waterfront

I've stayed here before (on my own) and really like it. It's not too big, it has a friendly athmosphere, and the staff is accommodating. The patio is nice with a pool. Try to ask for a room facing the court if you're at a low level, as the traffic outside can be loud. Breakfast is not awesome but good enough; great cappuchino though. No bath robe and slippers in the standard room, which otherwise was very adequate in size and nicely decorated. The internet was free and very fast in the room. Close walking distance to the Waterfront. I would gladly stay here again.

Our fifth visit to Cape Town and we would certainly stay at this hotel again just a couple of minutes walk to the waterfront. The staff were all so helpful, especially the guy on the travel desk who organised all our trips for us and booked restaurants. The breakfast buffet was excellent and we booked room service one night which was also good. A very relaxing and comfortable lounge area.

We visited Commodore from 27th January 2009 to 11th February 2009. Very helpful and extremely attentive staff. Rooms ok bathrooms especially showers need attention.
Service although first class apart from breakfast. Staff slow to respond buffet very basic
more fresh fruit would be appreciated. Maybe service better outside than inside. Overall the hotel is very well staffed with quick and very helpful staff. Would certainly return again and would not hesitate to recommend to friends

I started my honeymoon at the commodore and was upgraded by the staff at check-in. The room was small but nice and had an excellent view of the table mountain. If not for the view, it would have been a pretty average room. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was awesome, being only a few minutes walk to the V & A with plenty to eat and walk around. I would suggest requesting a room with the view when you book the hotel.

  • Liked — The staff friendliness and the view from the room
  • Disliked — The room (other than the view)
