Arrived in Cape Town on 9th May and stayed at the Trevoyan Guest House for 4 nights. Our room (number 2) was very spacious, comfy and warm (yes it does get quite cold in Cape Town). Lovely decor and nice bathroom. Never got to use the pool as too cold, but the garden, pool and surrounding area was lovely with nice comfy seating throughout. The breakfast room was also spacious and light and airy, at breakfast there was a good variety of continental type food as well as cooked breakfasts, very satisfying. Jean-Louis and Monique were always on hand to either give us advice or book us a taxi, we had a car, but as the Waterfront is only a 10 minute ride we got a taxi there twice so we could enjoy a bottle of wine together. Walked out twice in the evening (about 10 minutes) to a variety of good quality restaurants, felt quite safe and did not get bothered at all. The guest house is very central - 10 minutes to the Table Mountain Cable Car and 10 Minutes to the V&A Waterfront by car, approx 25 minutes to Kirstenbosch Gardens. Highly recommend this Guest House for both a good location, friendliness and quality.

This place is gorgeous! The property has been well taken care of and clearly spent some money to turn it into a B&B. The staff were wicked helpful and they even had a cute Fiat you can rent which worked out so well.

It loses a star for a few reasons-- we had a plug adapter with 4 different countries and couldn't find one that fit. if it wasn't for the TV, we wouldn't have been able to charge our phones. Also, one of the bedside lamps didn't work when they showed us the room (the owner jiggled some stuff and it came on) and continued not to work through the stay. there were no overhead lights in the bedroom which left us with a small bedside light which drove me crazy. the room didn't have AC but we were given a fan which didn't bother me, but some might want to know this. Also, the glass shower door in the bathroom was leaking and spilled water onto the floor if you weren't careful.

Overall the place is beautiful and very safe. The staff are friendly and helpful and i would recommend this to others in the future.

Dear Guest

thank you for taking time and reviewing your stay with us.

Positive comments are always nice to read, not only for us, but for fellow travellers as well.
Regarding your 'minus-points' we have over the winter months resolved these as we were aware of them. All our rooms now have down lights and the bed side lamps have been attended to. All our bathrooms have been completely refurbished with walk in showers - so no more leaking shower glass in future. Regarding the AC - our Victorian house is from 1896 and it would take the charme away of this old dame if we were to install an AC.

We have plenty of adapters at reception for our guests to use during their stay - we just need to be made aware of the fact that you are having issues charging your phone and other electronically devices.

Looking forward to welcoming you again in our beautiful city.
Friendly regards
The Trevoyan management

The room was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I had a view of the of Table Mountain from my window with its 'table cloth', cloud cover and also magnificently totally clear! The staff accommodated an earlier breakfast for me on one morning and called a taxi for my trip to the top of the mountain. My only concern was the poor internet connection but that might have been partly due to some very windy weather.

Stayed for 5 nights at start of 2 weeks , great base for capetown, close to everything that is needed, 15 min walk to bus tour ... lovely rooms, very traditional , grounds lovely with a view , close view of table mountain ... Only given 4 stars as wifi poor, no real tv and shower not great and in comparison to other places we stayed along the coast, they were better value for money but then this might be unfair .... but in value for money , the others were more . Here also , had to pay for coffee, no facility in room for that but by no means does it detract from the quality of the guest house just value in comparison to others
