The cooked breakfasts leave a lot to be desired - even when the order is specified it still came out in edible. By the 3rd morning we'd learnt to only have the continental. Service was below average as well. Better for dinners

Location is brilliant, you can walk almost everywhere from this small boutique hotel. Our 6th floor room was a bit on the small side but had nice views on two sides, the bathroom was spotless with a big shower. Though the soap-dish fell off on first use and wasn't replaced while we were there. The restaurant is good and has a great treetop feel with windows wrapping round close to the tree branches outside on the first floor, but beware tourist groups booking the hotel out; the lovely a la carte menu (with ostrich, venison, etc) disappears and it becomes a rather dull buffet dinner spot. Breakfast buffet is good with constant refills of coffee and tea. Staff are great, friendly, smiley and informed and the bar staff are great, very good wines are served alongside cocktails. You can take your drinks outside to a few tables which disappear after sunset, so it's inside only then. Taxi's easily available, good shopping all around. Close to many museums (District 6, Jewish Museum and St. George's Cathedral). Will stay there again but see if they have a bigger room next time.

Room Tip: Choose a corner room, higher up for better views and less traffic noise.

We arrived at the Townhouse Hotel at the worst possible moment. The hotel was full to bursting with a cruise ship changeover, the hotel laundry equipment went on the blink and every available seat and space in the public areas was taken. The staff tried their best to keep everyone happy during this difficult period but the tension was rising! After that initial setback our stay proved to be calm, comfortable and enjoyable. The rooms are spacious and well appointed, the staff were keen to ensure a comfortable stay and the breakfast was great. The management of the hotel was found lacking during that initial period, but thereafter the hotel proved to be a very good choice.

Room Tip: High rooms on the South side give a great view of Table Moutain

Centrally located in a quiet part of town. Nice large rooms. Clean and modern. Lovely buffet breakfast and dining options.
Only criticism would be the front desk staff who were unhelpful and disinterested - shame, since they are the first point of contact.

I had a very pleasant stay here: the rooms are truly attractively furnished, the staff so friendly and helpful, and it is within walking distance of the Centrum, though, sadly it becomes seedy - and dangerous - at night time. Please do not walk around at night time, especially if you are alone/female.
