My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary with a once in a lifetime trip to South Africa. Cape Town was our first stop. We stayed at this lovely hotel that was centrally located to all activities. Our room faced Table mountain which gave us a spectacular view! We could walk to the Robben Island ferry and the Red/Blue busses that we could take around town. The welcome we received from the staff was outstanding and the food was really great. It was a great start to our special vacation together. The tour desk was also very accommodating when we were planning daily events and made reservations and recommendations at local restaurants on the waterfront as well. We highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here with family and friends in April. Great location and helpful staff. Good breakfast and we enjoyed having it outside even though the weather was getter cooler. Rooms were super, large with a clean and functional bathroom. Awesome view. The beds were super comfy with lots of pillows but be warned, take earplugs. The wind screamed through the room and I didn't sleep for two nights until I nipped to the pharmacy! Otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: We slept on the waterfront side, amazing view but take earplugs if it's windy season!

This hotel was excellent in every way. The staff did there upmost to help with anything. The food was 5 star. We were in the loft rooms which were large and spacious with a gorgeous view of the big wheel. The V and A was in an excellent location for day trips, with the ferry just on our door step to Robin island along with the canal boat for a leisurely trip. I can not recommend this hotel enough, it was fantastic. Thank you.

Just completed 4 nights at the V&A Waterfront hotel. I think this hotel is rated 4 star but it is better than most 5 star hotels that I have stayed at.

From the time we arrived...after 2 days of travel, we were welcomed warmly by Antonio at the front desk. And as our stay continued, the service from every employee we encountered remained wonderful. A small request such as a glass of ice was met with a smile. We had a problem with a room key and someone was upstairs in a out 5 minutes to help us out.

We had room service every morning ( included in the price) because we were so busy exploring every day, we didn't make it to eat in their restaurants. You can read reviews their three restaurants in other people's reviews but I can tell you that the room service, and breakfast buffet in the lobby was excellent, with a vast menu and delicious hot chocolate.

We had to get boarding passes for our flights to Tanzania and Liezl at the travel desk who was as lovely as her name took care of this for us. She made it so simple and then she and I had time for a short chit chat about my stay in CapeTown and how wonderful it was.

I hope I have the opportunity to visit Cape Town again. if I do, I would surely return to the Victoria and Alfred waterfront hotel! And I forgot to mention it's excellent location right on the Harbor. I will definitely tell anyone I know going to Cape Town to stay there.

Stayed here on our final night in Cape Town and enjoyed the experience. Room was large, clean and comfortable. Location-wise couldn't be better for the V&A with free parking right on the waterfront for guests. We had a last day excursion to Robben Island prior to an evening flight out and the hotel stored our luggage and provided a room for us to shower and freshen up before our flight. Breakfast was fantastic. Incidentally, we had some large items to sea freight to Australia similar to a previous poster and the hotel were wonderful, they taped up and labelled our package whilst we were out for the day, and on our return we dropped it at the post office ourselves opposite the hotel in the waterfront complex. It took 20 minutes and cost $30 for a 6kg package. All in all a very pleasant stay after touring Africa for 3 months, we had lots of little things to arrange prior to leaving and the hotel made it very easy.

Coming home again to one of my favourite hotels in Cape Town, one I have neglected to visit for about 2 years, but nothing has changed. Arriving very early on a day when the hotel was full the night before, I was greeted by name and invited to relax with complementary coffee in the lounge until a room was available. Rooms are spacious, well appointed and have everything you need, with the only downside being a very long wait for hot water in the basin (but not the bath or shower). The top floor is quant, with sloping ceilings - watch out if you get up during the night, you are likely to hit your head, offset by either a view of the water or a view of Table Mountain. Great food and drink, so very conveniently situated within a stroll of many restaurants and shops, you could not ask for anywhere better in beautiful, charming Kaapstad!

Room Tip: All rooms can be noisy during the early evenings, due to the proximity of the restaurants and bars o...

The hotel has a great location on the waterfront, I will give them that.

but the service of the duty manager and how he treated us seems like we were staying in a motel.

We had asked for them to ship us some masks back to the USA, they said they do it all the time it shouldn't be that expensive.

So we didn't hear from them for a couple days, so we finally emailed them. They didn't respond. We didn't have a cell phone that worked in SA. Our other hotel spent all day trying to contact them. Finally she requested a duty manager since someone hung up on her!!! The duty manager came back and said it was 500 dollars to ship to the USA!!!!!! So we told them we would come and get it from the wine county. Nothing like them ruining part of your vacation by fixing there mistakes. So he promised he had it, so we drove there. And it wasn't here it was at the post office. Why would he tell us it was there!!! So he said they would ship it for us back to the USA. Which they didn't! Another lie, how many times do you need to lie to us. We had it shipped to our other hotel that was nice. They did pay for this, but still! And now our hotel is shipping it for us, it's still 300 dollars. But its not 500 dollars! YET ANOTHER LIE!

Stay at another hotel if you want to have trust in where you are staying!
