“Great position but not great hotel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 January 2013

The position is very central and nice, but the hotel strongly needs a restructuring and proper cleaning. The room and bathroom floors were quite dirty, and the shower didn't work - staff are very good and eventually fixed the shower.

I stayed at the Tudor for 4 nights at end of November. Fantastic location for exploring CapeTown, 15min walk to V&A, next to the Greenmarket Square and close to hop-on, hop-off bus routes. Staff were great, very friendly. Full buffet breakfast offering hot & cold choices. Mrs Campbell was very welcoming. Rooms was perfectly clean and a great size, only downfall was the single glazing hence being wakened early every morning with the traders preparing their market stalls, but then again, when exploring SA, you don't stay in bed all day. Would definitely recommend the Tudor to anyone going to CapeTown. Thanks for a great stay.

Me and my colleagues were staying in Tudor Hotel for a week on a business trip and we had no breakfast, for the price of the food there is incredibly high, you can eat your breakfast outside for 5 times cheaper money. The room was small, just a bed, cupboard and a bathroom with toilet, it was cleaned every day very properly by a nice lady, who did everything with much care. I had a window to the emergency exit, so it was dark even during days. The halls are very narrow, so if you have big pieces of luggage, you will face problems getting to your room. One night there was a cockroach in my room, but never again, my colleagues had no problem with this either. The people from the reception were very helpful regarding anything, they ordered us taxis, trips etc. and gave helpful advices. I must say the lobby looks so nice you might think the hotel is comfortable, but it is not luxurious at all, just a below average. It is on the market square, so at 6AM in the morning an incredible noise starts, because the sellers are buildng their stands every day. But since it is clean and safe, I recommend it.

Room Tip: Choose rooms which have windows to emergency exit, they are less noisy (you don't hear the noise...

The TUDOR Hotel is situated in the heart of Cape Town, next to Greenmarket Square, the vibrant Long Street and St. Georges Mall with its shops, bars and many restaurants to visit.
