“Lovely boutique hotel”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

I just love this hotel! This is my first visit to Cape Town and indeed to South Africa so I can't say with authority that it is the best place to stay, but it certainly suited our purposes. I am not sure that I can say anything that hasn't been said already. We had 2 rooms -101 that had a sitting room and 117 that had a lovely area to sit outside. Having peeked into a few of the other rooms they are all different and all look lovely. Breakfast is great and can be as small or large as you wish. Visiting in winter room 117 was definitely colder than 101 but nothing that couldn't be sorted. Staff were friendly and helpful and were genuine in their enquiries as to your day. Is there anything I didn't like? A tiny point but adding a charitable donation to the bill out of the blue to a charity I hadn't seen mention of throughout my stay I found a little odd, but it was voluntary. The staff and the hotel definitely helped make our trip of a lifetime to South Africa a very memorable one.

Room Tip: I don't think you would be disappointed in any of the rooms

Dear Guest

Thank you for all your lovely comments. We are very proud of our staff and had fun decorating each room in a unique manner. Regarding the charity : I apologise you were not informed at check-in that we support the Zip Zap Children’s Circus via an optional levy on the room account. As a company we are passionate about Zip Zap : We believe that they are an amazing NGO that allow children from all walks of life to come together and learn not only circus, but also life skills. Zip Zap has been in existence for over 22 year now and some of our guest like to go to their shows or practices. Normally in each room you would find an annual report and a brochure. Donations obviously are on a voluntary basis and through the gracious generosity of our guests we raise about R 35 000 yearly. All proceeds (100%) go to Zip Zap which is used to support some of their programs : these range from empowering children living with HIV to giving opportunities and a future to young adults living in shelters. We thank you for your contribution and hope that we may welcome you back soon !

Second time at Cape Heritage Hotel, obviously not the last. A charming place with old-style decorations, rooms are amazing and the quality of service is very high (for instance for organizing tours in and outside Cape Town).

I travel to Cape Town frequently on business and pleasure, and always find the service and setting of the Cape Heritage to be a perfect base. Right by the central business district, safe to walk around, great restaurants at your doorstep, and easy road access to all the best sights. The rooms are spacious, the grounds are fantastic, and the breakfasts are great & in a very relaxing setting. Highly recommended!

This hotel resembles a well-kept museum of Cape Town some 50 years ago. Rooms and corridors are full of antique pieces of furniture, pictures and statuettes arranged in a very pleasing manner.
The staff is friendly and helpful and the location is a 5 minute walk from the City center with busy Long Street. Breakfast is delicious and there are many good restaurants in the neighborhood.
One gets the feeling of being a member of an international family.

Room Tip: All rooms are nicely decorated, fully equipped and quiet.

Having arrived in Cape Town off the Rovos Rail, we were pleasantly surprised by the Cape Heritage. If you want to be in the crowds of the waterfront or a large, modern hotel with many amenities, this is not for you. However, if you appreciate historic preservation, a smaller intimate hotel in a historic house witha very attentive staff, being in the central business district, being within walking distance of most everything, a jacuzzi on the roof, a view of Table Mountain from many of the rooms, and having a few very good restaurants on your block, then this is the place.
Rooms 106, 107, and 113 are the largest, I believe. We had room 113, so spacious with 15 ft ceilings, a massive 4-poster bed, and very generous bathroom, and view of Table Mountain. The only drawback was that is faced on Shortmarket Street and was above the entrances to Bistrot Bizerca and the Thai restaurant, so you might be awakened by late night revelers or early morning suppliers. Breakfast was quite excellent with a more than ample assortment of breads, jellies, cheses, meats, fresh fruit cut up, cereals, yogurt, and most any kind of coffee and tea. In addition you could order the daily hot breakfast special, or eggs cooked anyway you wished. The staff were incredibly helpful when called upon, and the room was the cleanest I've ever been in. Great value. Enjoy!

Room Tip: 106 is a suite and 107 may be quieter than 113.

I stayed here for several nights while extending a business trip to explore Cape Town. The hotel overall is full of character and history, with an appealing courtyard. My room was quiet, clean, comfortable and decorated with charm. Bathroom was huge. A fairly simple but nice breakfast is available. Staff were very helpful in arranging a private winery tour. Easy access to the centre of town. I loved the experience of staying in a historic building which has not been renovated in the usual bland, conformist style and the price was comparatively reasonable. I would definitely stay at the Cape Heritage if I have the good fortune to return to Cape Town.

Great value for money in terms of location, size and standard of rooms and service from all staff. Felt like welcome guests
That's the end of my review but apparently I have to make up space until I hit 200 characters which I think is ridiculous. Is this high school am I doing an English lit essay?
