This is a perfect spot in central Cape Town! Beautifully decorated rooms and bathrooms to really spoil yourself in! Breakfast is served inside or in the charming backyard. There are several restaurants in the backyard as well. A nice place to chill out after a busy day in Cape Town. However, the greatest asset to the Hotel is the amazing staff. We were treated like royalty from the moment we called and asked for rooms. A combination of charm and great helfulness!

Staying here is like staying with some rich young trendy relative in their mansion..I loved the location, I loved the fact I could walk 2 blocks and be in Long Street, or the Green markets, or simply go next door and have an excellant glass of wine.
Much has been said about the quality of the staff, and yes I'm sure no one is over 30, they are the new breed of Hoteliers, where the 'can do' attitude pervades..obviously a happy team, but where are the tea and coffee making, the morning paper? If you want it at 2am, yes we will be there as quickly as it takes to boil the kettle, and the cost.... next to nothing.....the paper, enjoy reading it in the sundrenched lounge.....
Choose your room carefully, personally I didn't like my room, but once in I couldn't be bothered moving (113) I loved the open door sticky beak policy, if the room is available the door is open...so next time I visit...definitely 107 is mine OK Semwano!!!
Oh and for those with kids, there is a wonderful family suite......perfect!..

We were at the hotel for our honeymoon and they really went the extra mile looking after us. The room we had was lovely and the bathroom fantastic (bigger than the actual bedroom itself). The hotel is set around a great restaurant in the courtyard below. From here you can easily walk to Long Street or the Cape Quarter. Many thanks to the staff who made our stay so memorable.

All the comments you have read are true -- this hotel is one in a million. The rooms are spacious, the courtyard is sunny and quiet, the bathrooms are modern and large, and the staff is the best in the world. They cannot do enough to help you -- from taxi service, to cell phones, to arranging tours, dinner reservations, and even your safari -- they are friendly, professional, cheerful, and 100% competent.
Do not be put off by the "downtown" location of this hotel. The neighbourhood is safe and clean, shops and restaurants are within easy walking distance, and it's only a R40 taxi ride to the waterfront.
I LOVED this hotel!

You read all these rave reviews and wonder if it could all be true.
Well, it is! This hotel is truly special; great location, lovely spacious rooms, excellent continental breakfast, but what sets it apart, worlds apart, is the incredible friendliness and helpfulness of the caring staff. Just amazing!

On arrival at the airport we were picked up by the hotel chauffeur and dropped of at the hotel. At the hotel we were greeted by Jodie who checked us in efficiently and ensured we had restaurants booked and gave us advise on the basics for the first couple of days. We were taken to our room which had been readied well before the official check in time as we landed on one of the early flights from London.

We stayed in room 104, one of the junior suites on the first floor overlooking the courtyard which is shared with the Savoy Cabbage, Caveau etc.. The room was very pleasant with comfortable bed and pleasant decoration. The bathroom was very spacious indeed and contained a large two person shower, double sink and a seperate roll top bath, again for two people.

The hotel facilities were good with internet access provided in one of the lounges. Breakfast was served very informally with a flexibility I have yet to experience elsewhere. Included in the price was what amounted to a continental breakfast, at additional cost (very reasonable rates) a delicious cooked breakfast was available.

The hotel is located not far from the waterfront and certainly within easy reach of all the main attractions. We hired a car during our stay and parked in the car park in the block next to the hotel throughout. Most evenings we made use of the hotel limo for shuttling us to and from restaurants which was a very reasonably priced service.

What sets this hotel apart from those we have stayed at around the world is the helpfullness and enthusiasm of the staff. Throughout the stay nothing was too much trouble, tickets to Robben Island were booked for us and ready at reception on the day we wished to go. We also purchased a large giraffe during our stay which they kindly arranged to be shipped back to the UK for us.

On a daily basis Sam, the general manager, would take time out to speak to each guest at length and ensure that they were happy and suggest a range of different activities for the days ahead. I would strongly advise anyone staying at this hotel to make use of her amazing local knowledge as she was able to suggest a number of trips which would not have intiallly sprung to mind but were definitely worthwhile.

Thank you to one and all for making our stay wonderful!! This has to be one of the best most welcoming hotels in Cape Town. A must for all visitors!!!

We loved every minute of our stay with the Cape Heritage Hotel. The staff were so accommodating and friendly.

Before we even arrived, Jody (she is the gem at this hotel) sent us a spreadsheet of wonderful restaurants in the area and made bookings for us based on our choices. When we arrived Jody was incredibly helpful in planning our events with us as well. But most importantly, she was always cheerful and pleasant to be with.

On the day of our arrival, there was a big party next door, nothing the hotel has control over, but they promptly gave us a room (in addition to the room we already had) down the hall where it was more quiet so that we could rest up from our trip that night! The next morning we returned to our reserved room well rested and ready to take on the day.

The breakfasts are amazing at the CH hotel. You feel well fed and in such a wonderful atmosphere. The little eating area outside the hotel is in a very small alley with grapevines above it. It's gorgeous and relaxing. Our first morning Byron (one of the owners) stopped by to have a lengthy chat with us. It was so nice of him to take the time out to give us the personalized attention and care that he did.

Every day we spent in Capetown was a wonder and the hotel made a huge difference in making us feel so welcome and comfortable there.

We had all kinds of great service from having our car brought to us, to being greeted with umbrellas outside on a rainy day, to having our laundry done immaculately, to being driven around town to have a little tour of Capetown, to the turn down service with chocolates on our pillows, to the caring details at every turn.

We can only hope to go back there and spend more time with them as soon as possible. We have yet to do a Great White Shark Dive!!

  • Liked — Jody, Byron, Zaruman and all the other excellent staff. The amazing and comfortable rooms. great interior design. Excellent service. Great breakfasts. etc. etc. etc.
