Owner description: Though the beach is still popular, the elegant splendor that once graced this seaside resort community barely shows through the paved-over streets, fast-food eateries and shopping centers.

Muizemberg beach is on the east coast of South Africa . It is very popular with surfers and there are numerous surf schools in the area . There are also numerous restaurants in the area looking over the beach front . The beach is best visited when the South Easterly wind is not blowing or in the winter months when the swells are bigger and better for surfing . Ample safe parking right next to beach and clean public restrooms also a plus . Can get very busy with locals on the weekend and over school holidays .

A huge long wide beach of white sand with the iconic colourful beach shacks. Lots of space to swim and surf (if you dare the sharks!). Lots of surf lessons available. Restaurants and shops a short walk - parking can be crowded. Kids play area, pool and grassy area behind the pavilion.

Gary's surf school is great. Thinks of safety first and promises to teach you to learn to surf in one lesson. Would recommend to all

We drove from cape town through Chapman's peak (and this is the route i would suggest to go to muizenberg from cape town , even though its a bit of a diversion). When we reached near the city, we could only see surfers breaking the waves near the shore. The colourfull shacks presented a good backdrop to the whole place. There was good food available around as well

Nice beach, with nice restaurants and shops near... But avoid on weekends and school holidays. Very busy...
