OVERALL: The hotel is very centrally located on lower side of Cape Town just off lower Long Street. You can walk to Long Street and enjoy an array if bars, restaurants and vibey nightspots. A short taxi drive to V & A Waterfront and most sights. The price for a double room in peak season (Dec 2013) was R600 which is cheap by Cape Town city standards and is the best value for money in CT i have experienced. If you are coming in your own car, parking is a problem with the hotel not having any of its own underground parking (only on the street parking).

ROOM: the room is huge by hotel standards with all basic amenities: tea coffee making facilities, working air-con and TV (limited channels). Sheets were crisp and clean. Room was clean. At night the room was quiet and the bed firm and comfy. Bathroom was in need of a coat of paint, shower drain was completely blocked. The room overall was for a 3 star hotel was what I expected and more.

SERVICE: Friendly prompt service. nothing spectacular but not bad either.

BREAKFAST:Breakfast was included in the room rate. Breakfast was excellent. Full continental breakfast with an array of fruit, cheeses, cold meats, yogurt and cereals. Also full English breakfast with eggs, bacon, mushrooms sausage, and an assortment of bread types for all palettes.

Stayed one Friday night in a twin room and was surprised with the hotel. The rate we paid ( R 450) had me wondering what to expect and I was prepared to the worst. However the room was clean, spacious and had everything needed. What a pleasant surprise. Breakfast was excellent with lots of fresh fruit and a nice selection of breads. Hot breakfast was also served. This hotel is really an exception, most cities would charge 3 times what we paid for for the same. The location is very central in town. Just take care however that parking in front in the hotel is not for free, you will be paying R 70 / night. This has nothing to do with the hotel but some kind of strange company, who will block your car if you not pay... Maybe the hotel should inform their clients about this practice. Otherwise: commendable hotel in Cape Town

Arriving after a 14-hour journey, being told they didn't have my reservation wasn't a good start. Staff were barely apologetic about this, but they managed to accommodate me. Large, motel-style rooms which need renovation. Much cutting of corners. Take bedding: Two pillows on each bed, but only the top one had a pillowcase. Wifi said to be available, but that's not quite true. They sell Wifi access via voucher (ZAR100 for 500MB). Shame they ran out of vouchers!
This downtown hotel's only benefit is the 5-minute to the convention center, but the area is grim and shady. Arrived back late one night to find reception empty and street doors open. To lone female travellers in particular - this is not a prudent choice.

This has been one of my best surprises in Cape Town. I needed a convenient place to stay on a business trip. I would recommend this hotel as the best value for money. The hotel must have been renovated recently. The breakfast was great. The reception staff needs some training but was very helpful. This is a reasonable 3 star hotel.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the inner court. Traffic will hassle you otherwise.

My colleague and I stayed here while attending a conference at the convention centre. Very useful location as it is just a short walk from the convention centre. The reception was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Leisl is a star! They also arranged airport transfers at a very good rate. The rooms were spacious and the bathrooms very large and a great shower! The rate for the rooms was very good - I'm not sure what the standard rooms are like but our room (one up from standard) was great and not much more in cost than the standard room.
Food was good and the breakfast great. Free WiFi would be great but could say the same for lots of places. Might not be the best location for your holiday, I'm not sure, but for us it was perfect.

Room Tip: We stayed in the room that was one up from the standard room. Still good value!
