“Great venue... The options are endless!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 January 2014

A charming and very interesting little venue – Each room is themed with historical/ cultural artifacts from various regions/ countries around the world! It’s a truly unique experience with great service and delicious food. The Vagabond is situated close to many of Cape Town’s iconic landmarks, such as the Cape Town World Cup Stadium, V&A Waterfront (both walking distance), close to various restaurants/ pubs/ clubs (both walking & driving distance) + attractions like the Sea Point Promenade (walking distance), which is ideal for a leisurely stroll, a run along the coast line or other activities in the green areas (parks, kiddy’s play areas, outdoor gym etc.) for the more enthusiastic. You’ll also be a short driving distance (or longer walk) from some of the world’s best beaches – Clifton, Camps Bay, Llanduno... The Vagabond is also close to Lion’s Head, Signal Hill, Table Mountain, Robben Island Tours (V&A Waterfront), Castle of Good Hope (Cape Town CBD), and well situated to explore some of Cape Town’s finest Wine Farms (Constantia, Stellenbosch, Paarl, Franschhoek etc.) + kirstenbosch Gardens, Newlands Cricket & Rugby Stadiums, Hout Bay World of Birds, Hout Bay Market (Weekends), Seal Island Tours (Hout Bay), Chapman’s Peak (Hout Bay/ Noordhoek), Cape Point Vineyards (Noordhoek – Thursday Market), Noordhoek Farm Village, Kalk Bay, Simons Town, Boulders Beach (Penguins), Cape Point (Cape of Good Hope), Hermanus (Whale watching in October/ November), game fishing tours, sea kayaking, boat trips (sun downers etc.), various hiking trails, paragliding (Camps Bay), cycling routes (various), mountain biking trails (Tokai) and numerous beautiful golf courses… There is also reliable public transport on your door step if required… The options are endless!

My stay at The Vagabond was surprisingly good. I stayed there three days in August and it was great. As soon as I walked in, it felt cozy, like home. Even though I am a Muslim Egyptian, I really liked the giant Buddha near the entrance – it was a kick. I stayed in the Arabian suite, and I did feel all night like I was in the Middle East – kind of hard to explain. It is winter there in August, so the heated blanket was a welcomed surprise. The hostess, Graziella, an Italian lady, was accommodating and very sweet. - she even made restaurant reservations for me a couple of times. Breakfast was great (I am sure Graziella had just prepared the fruit salad before we sat down), with hot croissants and coffee. My breakfast companions were some interesting folks from Nigeria and America.
