We had a great morning seeing some of the beautiful sights of Cape Town. It was an interesting way to travel around the city and a novel way to see sights we've seen before but in a new adventurous way. We really enjoyed our trip and the drivers were friendly and knowledgeable about the area.

Side-car Adventure treats your vacation with a real sense of adventure as you cruise the streets and roads of Cape Town, South Africa. From the "gearing-up' process of the leather jackets, helmets, visors, as well as complimentary bandanas, the rider's safety is the first order of business. Our guide, Donald - a native of Cape Town- took us North to Blouberg where the wildflowers were beginning to bloom and most tourists, just locals, venture to the beaches and views of the area. Our postcard photographs of the Table Mountain, Lions Head, etc. all come from our Sidecar Adventure Tour. Next time, we will book a longer tour rather than the 90 minute. Hint: Book online and receive a discount. Enjoy.

We went on a sidecar tour very spontaneously and got our tickets at the Waterfront office of Citysightseeing. The sidecar was ready after about 90 mins. The driver, Donald, made sure we felt safe on the absolutely wonderful vintage sidecar before taking us on the trip to Boulders Beach, Cape Point, through Hout Bay and along the spectacular Chapman's Peak Drive. Donald proved to be a good driver and a very kind and informative guide (and he took the most wonderful pictures I have to remind me of my stay in Cape Town, he is quite a talent!). The ride was an adventure in itself, and the landscape is magnificent to watch while riding along. The only point of improvement might be the stay at Cape Point – it was a little too short, so that we didn't make it back to the sidecar at the appointed time, although we didn't dawdle. But still, it was a great experience, absolutely recommended.

Thanks for your enthusiastic review of your sidecar trip.
Regarding the shortage of time. Unfortunately, sometimes the popular attractions that we visit en route are very busy with other visitors which affects the timing of the outing. If you'd like to enjoy another sidecar outing in the future, i'd like to suggest booking the full-day option which allows a lot more flexibility and allows for a more relaxed trip.

What a ride!!! 8 of us, 4 adults and 4 children, went for the coolest ride. Tim and three other drivers showed up outside our Camps Bay house on a beautiful July day. For the next 5 hours we rode the southern peninsula making various stops along the way. At each stop Tim and his 3 amigos pointed out things of interest and cracked a few, actually funny, jokes.. What a great time!!! A must do in Cape Town!

I had alreay done the visit of Cape Point before my boyfriend came in Cape Town, with an other company. It was great! So,I did a twice the visit of Cape Point for him with Cape Sidecar Aventures. We chose this company because I wanted to try a new kind of adventure. The experience in Sidecar was good, whereas we had a backache the next days due to the discomfort of the seats... But any way, it could not stop me to enjoy the trip.
The really bad points, I think are:
- The guide. He was no friendly and he asked us all the time to hurry up ourselves !! We did not have the time to enjoy the scenery, just a little time to take 1 or 2 pictures...
- The security. The helmet was too bigger for me. So, he gave me a hat to put on my head under the helmet but it was not enought... The helmet moved all the time! Fortunately, the guide is a good driver!

Dear Marlene

Thanks for taking the time to review your sidecar outing.
We're always trying to improve our product and any comments to help us achieve our objective are appreciated.

With regards to the comfort of the seats. Our bikes are genuine old vintage military bikes and we like to keep them as authentic as possible with no modern changes. If our guests alert the driver about possible agility or health problems, we always recommend the more comfortable sidecar seat rather than the pillion. Possibly in your case, you completed the trip on the pillion seat which can become quite tiring if you are unused to this type of seating.
With regards to your driver being impatient. It seems as though you may have chosen to enjoy our special discounted five hour Cape Point sidecar outing. This package caters for guests who have limited time but would like to view all the popular Peninsula attractions. Unfortunately this leaves little spare time for other activities. We do offer a full-day 8 hour package which allows our guests the luxury of seeing the sights with a more relaxed itinerary.
Lastly, your helmet concern. We do try & bring a selection of biking gear to our pick-up point & we generally are able to supply correctly sized gear for all our guests. With guests with smallish head measurements, we generally supply a smaller helmet plus a beanie to fit under the helmet. In some situations where the helmets are still too loose, we route the outing via our depot where we allow the guest to choose his or her own helmet from our stock.
Unfortunately, in your case, your driver didn't seem to be aware that you were still uncomfortable & therefore didn''t suggest a stop at our depot for a smaller helmet.
I do apologize for your unhappy experience & if you re-visit Cape Town i would like to offer you a complimentary full-day outing so you can enjoy the full sidecar experience & hopefully have an outing that far exceeds your expectations..
