I wanted a quiet, small place to grab a bite to eat on my first night in Cape Town. This place, with its funky decor, seemed okay. I had a traditional margarita; it came in a plastic glass with one ice cube, but was properly made with salt on the rim and decent tequila. I ordered a chicken burrito, thinking that would be a "safe" option.
The burrito arrived, looking like no burrito I have ever seen. Basically, it was a tortilla folded over some filling. The filling seemed to be a mixture of ground beef, corn, cheese and perhaps some rice. There might have been beans, but it was all so mushy, I couldn't tell. Obviously the filling was mixed together well beforehand. There was homemade guacamole and salsa on the side, which were quite good.
I was hungry and so I ate the "burrito." The next day, I had arranged to hike Lion's Head...and halfway up, the "burrito" decided to - well - expel itself. It was NOT a fun hike.
Note to self: avoid dodgy Mexican places before hiking.
