£47 per night for 2 including breakfast is great value! This was our second stay at this 3star hotel situated in the Gardens area of Cape Town. Ask for rooms 203 to 207 as these are front facing with a view upto Table Mountain. Rooms 203 to 205 are the largest and are very clean and comfortable. Breakfast offers a good choice with eggs and omelettes cooked to order. Hotel is surrounded by some very good restaurants and within walking distance of the city, although it may take an hour yo reach the Victoria and Alfred waterfront depending on how fast you walk. No hesitation in recommending this hotel, the staff are very helpful - arranged car hire which was delivered to the hotel within an hour, and would certainly return in the future.

First Impressions: The pink facade is nice enough but, as it was raining when I arrived, I didn't quite see the few flags hanging overhead. The lobby was 3D: Dim, Dull and Deserted! Averaging between 50-80 GBP, it is cheap compared to its peers for its 3-star rating. But, as you soon will realize, absolute price is quite different from good value. Grade C+.

Pros: Nestled at the foot of Table Mountain, the hotel's location is good, being inside Cape Town Central but not too close to congested City Central. There are great views of Table Mountain from some of the rooms. A swimming pool is available. Service is friendly and accommodating.

Cons: Although it is still good value for what you get, it is still lacking the basics for a 3-star hotel: coffee/tea in the room, hair dryer, in-suite safe, fridge, etc. But these are small things. The room I was in had "paper-thin" door/wall that I had to endure the noise of people talking at the other end of the hallway. The shower did not have a splash-guard to prevent water run-off from reaching the door, evident from wood peeling off the door frame. You still pay for parking and spotty WiFi. The buffet breakfast is forgettable, and there are only a few restaurants within walking distance.

Verdict: This hotel has the potential to be a very nice one, if only management had bothered to upgrade, if not refurbish, it. I'm not a fussy traveller but, if you only use the hotel to sleep in, it does the job. Just lower your expectations. Oh, and bring ear plugs.

Room Tip: For great views of Table Mountain, ask for the south-facing rooms. The trade-off? These are also the...

The Hotel , near the top of loop street should have been alive and buzzing, a tourist hot spot and with great views of table mountain.

However my experience was bland and dull, the place was dead, apart from a choir staying and rehearsing there (including right outside my room at 8am!!!),
Breakfast was lovely no complaints there, no tea and coffee facilities in rooms so had to go down to a coffee dock near the bar!
Week day staff at reception were friendly and helpful, weekend staff were useless a friend had to wait 5 minutes while the receptionist finished a private phone call to contact me in my room as my mobile wasn't working.

My room (101!) was in need of refurbishment, as is much of the hotel.

Wifi located in the lobby only was painfully slow

If your Saga holiday age, you'll love it here, if not book elsewhere,

This was a lovely hotel, comfy rooms, view of Table Mountain from the room window was an added bonus, sometimes clear, and sometimes with the tablecloth (mist) on, was spectacular, but it was the staff here that made it so good, could not do too much to make you feel welcome, always pleasant and helpful. We were a party of 6, my niece, who was with us was 40 whilst we were there and I wanted to have flowers delivered for her, reception organized it for me, wonderful.
I had an eye problem whilst there and they had a doctor to see me within an hour at 7.00pm, can't get that service at home. He wrote me a presription and we were too late, or so we thought, to get it dispenced, but not so, reception arranged a taxi to come collect it, take it , and bring it back, the most wonderful service ever, we were going on safari for two days the next morning
and this meant I could start the treatment immeadiately. you can't ask for more.
Everyone made the stay memorable.

I would like to thank the staff at Lady Hamilton for their excellent and friendly service.

The conference package and facilities was excellent and the service was superb. During our three week stay the staff made it comfortable and this ensured that we had an effective and memorable training. The staff was well trained and courteous. The food and service from the kitchen was really good and the staff once again was efficient and friendly. The rooms was tidy and was kept tidy at all times. the hotel staff has really gone the extra mile in terms of the service they rendered.

My overall experience was very positive and I must thank you for the great and valuable experience. -Juanne Waites

Enjoyed my stay at this property. Being close to excellent eateries and the famous cafe sofia was a plus. Table mountain was clearly visible and all in all a great place of value to stay. Staff were helpful in organising day tours around capetown's hot spots as well as recommending safe and ideal night spots. Loved everything capetown!!!
