Lady Hamilton Hotel is not a very impressive hotel, but it sure is a quality hotel- nicely designed, well fitted, comfortable and perfectly located. We spent few nice days over there, we really liked the swimming pool and generally I would say the ambiance in the hotel is very positive. We found it in easy click travel for less than 90$- a price suitable for our limited budget, still we've received a high standard hospitality.

My wife and I stopped at this hotel for 2 nights in December as part of a 3 week trip to South Africa
Room - Ok - nothing fancy but plenty of space - when we pointed out a couple of things that could improve it the staff were quick to listen.
Service - fine - no lift so a little man carted out quite heavy luggage to the top floor, polite friendly and helpful when needed.
Food - only eat once at dinner - food was superb and very good value for money. Breakfast is optional so you don't pay unless you want it
Location
Really convenient for getting around - we had a car (parking available) and it was easy to get from the hotel to anywhere. Particularly convenent for Table mountain - we could see the cable way from a balcony so were able to assess whether it was a good time to go up (which we did) particularly as during a later stay in cape town the weather contrived to close the cable way extensively - -if you are going to go to the top on the Cable way then DO IT WHILE YOU HAVE THE CHANCE - the views are breath-taking and the trip up is worth every rand you pay
Area - nice - easy access to shops, bars and eating - just round the corner from Cmpany's Gardens - fine - felt completely safe walking out from this hotel.
This is not the poshest hotel in the world but I think it was very good value for money and would definitely consider it again if needing to stop somewhere in centralish Cape Town

My husband, Daughter and I stayed at this Hotel as we enjoyed it so much the first time round two years before. Although the staff had changed they were just as helpful and friendly. All of the front desk staff could not do enough for you and we had many a good night at the bar with Alyana. The breakfasts were lovely. The rooms we had were very roomy and very comfortable and the ones we had had been refurbished since our last stay. We stayed here for four nights. Cape Town is very cosmopolitan. The waterfront is about a 10 min drive from the Lady Hamilton which we did not find a hinderance as we had a hire car and just drove down everyday. Robben Island is a must place to visit. Book early on your arrival as it gets booked up really quickly. Table Mountain is obviously also a must go location. Also travel to see the Penquins at Boulders Beach, The Cape of Good Hope along the coast road is well worth visiting. There are also lots of Museums and other places of interest to visit. The Oceanarium was excellent. There are lots of shops at the Waterfront, great restaurants. Try Ferrymans, and the Spur great value for money. Near to the Lady Hamilton is a lovely little restaurant called Arnolds. Great food, great prices, great staff. About 5 mins from the Hotel. Do try a wine tour of Stellenbosch. Once again thanks to all the staff at Lady Hamilton for making our stay so welcome. We will be back.

I booked to stay at Tulip Inn but that was overbooked so they sent me here which is a sister hotel. I then could not get in until 2pm so not a good start. The safe in the room did not work and they could not find the key. The hotel was further out of town but in a quiet location and a pleasant 20min fast walk into centre via Gardens but no public transport so expensive taxis otherwise. Breakfast was good but expensive if not included in rate. Rooms were very basic and pool was tiny. Good location for restaurants and bars on Kloof and Long Streets, An average hotel but I would recommend staying more central or the waterfront if you can afford it.
