“Home away from home”
Reviewed 14 February 2014

I travel regularly to Cape Town for business and after trying a whole range of options, I have settled on Abbey as my first choice. Why?
- very convenient location, no issues with traffic and easy to get anywhere in Cape Town
- comfortable and tasteful decorated rooms
- lovely views which make my business trips feel more like holidays
- good personal service without being overbearing
- much better value than booking a room for one in one of the city centre hotels

Highly recommended for business of pleasure travel.

Room Tip: For a bit more privacy, opt for one of the garden rooms. For better views, go for the top floor.

My partner and I stayed at The Abbey Manor for two nights in January 2014 as part of a two-week holiday and we both agreed it was our favourite guest house - I wish we'd booked it for longer! We were allocated the beautiful "cottage" room which is slightly separate to the Guest House with direct access to the pool. The house is a lovely building with a really nice pool area and has fantastic views of Table Mountain. It is really well located in a quiet neighbourhood but still really close to busier areas such as Kloof Street and short drives from Camps Bay or the V&A.

On arrival, we were met by Judi who throughout our stay was magnificent, suggesting things to do, places to go and restaurants to eat at. Breakfast was also the best we had throughout our holiday.

Overall, a brilliant guest house which I would recommend to anyone.

We loved Abbey Manor. From the moment we arrived -- VERY late at night and travel weary, Judy made us feel welcome! Both Judy and Samantha were eager and willing to provide tips for getting around Cape Town and its environs, as well as suggestions for meals and sights.
Four of us were traveling together -- my husband and I had been to Cape Town before, but our friends had not.
Abbey Manor is within walking distance to major attractions in Cape Town -- Kloof Street, the Central Green Market, and the Company Gardens (as well as numerous museums). It's also close to Camp Street and numerous restaurants -- although because we visited the restaurants at night, we took a taxi or drove our rental car.
A wonderful FULL breakfast comes with your stay at Abbey Manor, I highly recommend the very tasty Abbey Fold Over omelet! :)
Abbey Manor is in a charming neighborhood that's very quiet and clean, yet close enough to all the action that nothing is missed.
The fact that Table Mountain is literally in its backyard is also pretty spectacular!

Room Tip: Book early, it tends to fill up very quickly!

We recently stayed at Abbey Manor along with other family members and we can't rate it high enough. From the moment we were greeted by the lovely Samantha we felt so welcome, it was like coming home to a very good friend. The whole team was so helpful with everything, we got some very nice lunch/dinner recommendations and no request was too difficult. The view over the Table mountain is spectacular and from the roof terrace you have a great view over the sparkly Cape Town at night. We are looking forward to our next visit to this lovely place.

We returned to Cape Town for our anniversary. We had no hesitation in returning to Abbey Manor. The comfort of the rooms and great location are bettered only by an incredible breakfast and the hospitality of all. Like you are staying with friends! No need to stay anywhere else!
