Following reviews on trip advisor we are amazed this restaurant is 12th best restaurant in Cape Town.
We arrived around 7pm and were the only two customers during the two hours that we dined. For our starter we selected the platter for two and the ravioli and bruschetta were really tasty, spring rolls and satay skewers were nothing special.
For our mains we ordered the red and green curry and both lacked spice but more worryingly looked rather curdled in texture.
Service was really great and friendly.
At the end when the bill came it seemed the credit card machine wasn't working and luckily we had enough cash to pay but surprisingly the 10% service was added automatically which we have rarely experienced in Cape Town.
Overall, a rather disappointing first visit which is more than likely to be our last and we wouldn't recommend it to any of our friends either unfortunately.

Con fusion is the apt word. The waitress writes the order down and then brings the incorrect food. And wants you to eat it. I ate food I did not order. You have to ring a by cycle bell to gain entry. Weird

Following Tripadvisor, we walked into Pearl and Ploy and happy so.
The food is excellent and authentic Thai. (I lived on Koh Samui for a while and know good Thai food). The restaurant was a bit quiet when we visited, but the service very attentive and I would definitely recommend it. The Tom Kha Gai (chicken coconut soup) was very good!

For the most authentic, subtle deliciousness of this type of cuisine, do yourself a favour and go to Pearl and Ploy. It's central, classy and simple all at once with a hostess that cares and ingredients that crunch. Oh - and then there's dessert in the form of Nutella Crepes and other delights if you haven't had enough by then. YUM!

My husband and I spent summer in Sea Point and dined regularly here The food is authentic (we have been to Thailand many times and lived with excellent Thai food in the Middle East), the service a little chaotic at times but always warm and friendly which, to us, just makes it delightfully different Well done Om and your team - we look forward to seeing you in October
