“Fantastic Cape Cadogan...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 September 2010

This is a really fantastic hotel. Great location in a safe residential side street just off the main road. Lovely, well appointed rooms with a massive bathroom. The cooked to order breakfast omelettes are a great start to the day ! What elevates this small boutique hotel above everything else however are the amazing staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them and you barely needed to ask before they were booking taxis, making restaurant recommendations and reservations, sorting out day trips and tickets etc etc. Cape Town is an amazing city and staying at the Cape Cadogan was a really great base to explore everything it has to offer. Very highly recommended.

We stayed at the Cape Cadogan hotel for 3 nights. It's very closeby to the centre of Capetown. The rooms are clean and nicely designed. The bathroom was nice and equiped with both a bathtub as a shower which allowed you to relax. Both the room as the bathroom were made out of natural stone and very nice. It's definitely a hotel to recommend if you want to enjoy Capetown for a few days and have a hotel where you can relax and let you be served like prinses.

Cape Cadogan is a small boutique hotel that originated as a farmhouse in the early 1800s. Even though it is quite old, the decor is modern and comfortable. The staff are very friendly, accommodating, and willing to help with directions and sight seeing. The made to order breakfast was very good and included continential food stuffs as well. The staff were willing to alter your order to your preference. The pool is teeny and more of a hot tub size but there is a nice patio. Each room has it's own private terrace or courtyard. You are welcomed with individualized cards and fruit. There is 1 computer for communal use and wireless is available although sometimes sporadic. The bathrooms are large. There are 2 common lounge areas. Snacks are always out including mini cupcakes (very good!), mixed chip mix, chocolates, and sherry.

*Why are the door handles so low?!

The only thing I could have asked for is more time in Capetown and more time at the Cape Cadogan. Friendly, accomodating staff. Super convenient location close to restaurants and Long Street. Fabulous breakfast.

Cape Cadogan is one of my best hotel experiences ever, in 20 years of travelling and staying in large and boutique hotels around the world.

The service is outstanding. Every member of the staff is friendly, welcoming and incredibly helpful. Nothing is too much trouble and every requirment is taken care of immediately. This is my first experience in South Africa and if all the hotels are like this then I will be a very happy tourist!

The hotel itself is lovely, they have captured the essence of the grand old colonial home and turned it into a lovely little hotel. The lounge has a fire burning all day and evening. The complimentary port and sherry served after 6pm, plates of tiny cup cakes and other complimentary snacks make a quiet drink in the loung a very pleasant way to unwind after a day of sight seeing.

The rooms are plain and simply furnished and not large but comfortable and provide everything that is necessary.

The location is good; we were told to stay at the Waterfront and I am glad we came here instead. Located in the Gardens, there are lots of restaurants within a 2 minute walk of the hotel. Plus it is a less touristy and commercial area than the Waterfront.

The breakfast here is also excellent, the croissants are amazing.

If you want a great hotel experience in Cape Town you absolutely cannot go past this place

An absolutely incredible experience. The service was the best we have ever encountered! (without being over the top!) Nothing was too much to ask for and the hotel was extremely flexible on check in/out time. Lovely rooms and breakfast, great location. Will definitely be returning and will be booking one of the rooms with the huge bathrooms (missed out on them this time unfortunately!)

The Cape Cadogan Hotel has all the charms of an intimate B&B and yet the quality of accommodation, the breakfast and, above all else, the personalised service are better than most 5-star hotels. Unlike many 'boutique hotels' which can be a bit rough around the edges, the Cape Cadogan is anythig but. The attention to detail is fantastic.
Location - A lovely, quiet residential street a few minutes' walk away from dozens of cafes and restaurants (and some very nice shops) on Kloof Street and Long Street.
The room - We were in Room 8; beautiful room with a terrace (looking out to Table Mountain) and a massive bathroom.
Breakfast - Absolutely delicious!
Service - Incredible service...very friendly, helpful and efficient. A special thanks to Dean and Kirsten for your help and hospitality.
I can't wait to go back!
