Five star B&B...just checked out this morning after a four night stay with my wife. After traveling for two days from the US to South Africa, tired and a little grumpy I did not want to be disappointed with my selection for my first visit to SA. We were greeted by the owner, offered a glass of wine and taken to our room. We booked the loft which has its own balcony overlooking the Atlantic with Robben Island in the distance, out the back window we had great view of lion head. Book this room if available...could easily accommodate family of four. Breakfast cooked to perfection...great sitting area in bar....the staff is great...they will assist you with any question. Stay here and enjoy Cape Town. Close to Camps Bay...

My husband and I stayed here recently for only one night because we were joining a tour the next day. It was a delightful experience and if and when we come back to Capetown we would stay at the Blackheath. The service and staff were marvelous as was the delicious breakfast. John gave us a great recommendation for dinner close by. We told everyone on our tour how great this place was and touted it highly if they were to be in Capetown again. Thank you, Thank you.

My wife and I stated here for a total of 6 nights in October/November 2013 and thoroughly enjoyed every one of them.
The B&B is lovely and in a very nice location. Not too far from the V&A Waterfront to walk, and a low fare if you take a taxi.
The service is what sets Blackheath apart from all other B&Bs we've stayed at. From the first welcome at reception, the very helpful information on nearby restaurants, the help in dealing with tour operators, through to the check-out and help with transfers to the airport, the service from ALL staff was first-rate. We can't thank them enough for all they did for us (especially you Charle and Godfrey). .
We even felt like family when one of the owners had a birthday and we were invited to join the guests with a glass of wine -- how much more comfortable can you be made to feel!
The breakfasts were great, the rooms were beautiful and comfortable and the pool was very inviting after a warm day of sightseeing.
All in all, it was a tremendous 'home away from home' and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Blackheath. We will certainly recommend it to family and friends, and to our travel agent as well.
We're now missing the warmth of Cape Town and the warm atmosphere of Blackheath as we face cold (-10C) and snow at home. Maybe we'll be back sooner than we thought ...

Stayed alone here for 3 nights in 2012. The service is what separates this B&B from the rest of the hotels out there. Antony's recommendations for a small group tour of the Cape of Good Hope and a guided hike to Table Mountain was perfect. Breakfast was always a treat as well.

Centrally located, in a very pleasant setting, with delightful poolside area and welcoming bar, lounge area. The breakfasts are to die for! Room was a little disappointing - smaller & less well-appointed than we were expecting but comfortable nonetheless. BUt what made this special was the friendliness & helpfulness of all the staff.

The Blackheath Lodge is very comfortable and clean with nice sitting areas and a pleasant poolside. We stayed in a smaller room but it was set up well for our four night stay. The breakfast at the hotel is very good. Charle and Godfrey were great hosts and provided good advice on what to see and where to eat in Cape Town. Most importantly they put in the extra effort to arrange reservations, call places to ensure they were open, call for taxis and just simply "took care of us". The location is very good in a residential area between Signal Hill and the sea, both were a few minutes walk away. A taxi ride is needed to get downtown or to the V&A Waterfront but some of the more energetic people did walk to those areas.
