Antony and his partner John have made this guest house very welcoming. All of the staff were very pleasant and helpful - especially before we arrived - booking us into a restaurant for New Year. Michelle and Nicky were lovely and had a couple of nice chats with John Claude. Breakfast was beautiful with lots of home made treats to try. Great start to our holiday. After 3 weeks of travelling around we did find other hotels just as nice and better value.

Antony and the staff at Blackheath Lodge made our first visit to Cape Town an amazing experience. Their collective knowledge of the restaurant scene and sights in Cape Town, as well as their guidance on vinyards and scenic drives throughout the Western Cape, is unparalled, and they made every efforts to ensure we had precise driving instructions or a taxi waiting to take us to our daily destination(s). Delicious breakfasts every morning on the covered deck, prepaid mobile phones for guest use, and beautifully decorated and spacious rooms with cozy beds are just a few of the many highlights. For us, the location was fantastic: on a quiet street with easy access to main roads to the city or to the south; car rentals literally around the corner (which Antony arranged with ease); and just about everything in Cape Town less than a R40 cab ride away. Antony and Michelle booked tickets for all the major attractions, secured restaurant reservations, and made recommendations on daily activities given the weather conditions. The high level of care and attention we experienced at Blackheath Lodge, and the friendly atmosphere due to all the staff and other guests (several of whom are regulars), helped to make Cape Town our most favorite holiday location to date. Any future visit to Cape Town will include a stay at Blackheath Lodge.

We loved staying at Blackheath lodge. The owner Anthony is great and helped us to book tours, restaurants and other hotels along the Garden route. The staff at Blackheath lodge will do everything they can to help you with your needs. The rooms are charming and clean and breakfast was great.

Although there are some restaurants in the area (Buzbee grill was an ok place for steak and fish) you will probably take a taxi if you want to eat out. If you´re tired the staff will help you to order food from one of the many take out-places that you can have on the lovely terrace. Dont make your order too late, though, or the restaurants will have closed.

Blackheath lodge is very close to the water so you can take a nice long walk along the waterfront to the city centre from here. It looks a lot closer on the map than it is in reality. Most of the time you will take a taxi or a bus, but that is the case in all of Cape Town.

South Africa is a fantastic country and we will certainly book a room at Blackheath lodge next time we go there.

Excellent staff and service, a cozy atmosphere and located on the right side of Cape Town. Anthony and the rest of the staff made our stay in Cape Town to an incredible memory. We still miss the cinnamon pancakes in the morning...

Anthony has made it a wonderful experience for us, he's very helpful, always smiling and would go the extra mile to make sure you're satisfied.
Very elegent interiors with excellent choice of colors, cleanliness and attention to every detail makes the stay worth every penny (mobile phone with local SIM card, DVD and books library, delicious breakfast, free WiFi, mini bar for you to fill,...etc.). Highly recommended for those who want a relaxing stay, in a cozy atmosphere that offers the things YOU REALLY NEED during your stay.
