Not only an excellent hotel with fine suites, but also has an excellent service. We've stayed in the Senator suite that is basically a 2 bedroom suite with living area and kitchen. A shower and an en-suite bath. When you'll enter the suite, your first word will be "Wow". The suite is designed in a local African style while maintaining a very modern and comfortable look. It even has a very nice and big balcony with ocean view. Everything is well equipped and you'll find the beds, tables and closets very clean (not obvious in other facilities). You'll feel very pleasant to return back from a full trip day. The service is also very good with enough staff and gives you an welcome stay. The staff are well trained and intend to serve you as best as they can. One drawback though - if you carry your own luggage, you have to climb some stairs (about 20) from the street level to enter the lobby. The parking is free along the streets near the hotel and you can also pay to reserve a spot in the hotel. In this case, you park on the 2nd level and can just use the luggage wheels.
All in total - I highly recommend it.
BTW, the complimentary breakfast is a very good continental breakfast + eggs prepared according to your choice. They also have a wellness center.

The Romney Park Hotel is nice as it is just far enough away from the harbor area that is nice and quiet. It’s an All Suite Hotel and Spa and has nice views of the ocean, Robben Island and the Green Point Stadium. I found the Staff to be excellent, the one dinner I had there during the week was very nice and the breakfasts we all excellent. It is a brief walk to the Harbor area and dependent which route you take a nice walk along the ocean. The room rate came with a Free Massage in their Wellness Spa area. I’d stay there again.

Room Tip: I like the higher floors for the view

We chose this hotel as we were travelling with our son and felt it would be nicer than two rooms. The location is great, views of Robben Island and Greenpoint stadium. Lovely balcony to enjoy a glass of wine after a days sightseeing. Spacious rooms and well maintained. The breakfast was great served outside in very pretty garden. All the staff were helpful and made us very welcome. The hotel is just a short cab drive to the waterfront and other attractions. Altogether a great place to stay and we will certainly go back

Room Tip: If you want good views go for higher level rooms

My fiancee and I stayed here for a week in late May. Well, OK; she wasn't my fiancee when we arrived, but she was by the time we departed. :)

In my mind, the Romney Park qualifies as a hidden gem. It's a small hotel, a bit tucked away from the main drag. But that is part of its charm too, as you feel less crowded or rushed in such a setting. We stayed in what was their basic room: a one bedroom suite. It was lovely, with a separate bedroom as well as a small kitchen, living room, and eating area. The balcony off the living room afforded us a gorgeous view of Greenpoint and the ocean beyond. We spent plenty of time waking up or just soaking it all in on that balcony.

The staff was attentive and provided us with anything we asked for, from arranging taxi and airport transfers to working out our car hire at a local branch of Avis. It really was no more difficult than simply asking and providing them with a few details, then letting them do the rest.

The breakfast was wonderful, with a variety of cold options as well as a hot made-to-order menu.

Parking our rental car there was easy. They have a small garage directly attached to the hotel with assigned spaces for guests. The security there as well as in the rest of the hotel was excellent, with video cameras and access buzzers assuring that only the appropriate folks are permitted in and out.

Overall, it was a beautiful experience and a great base for exploring Cape Town and its surrounds. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Not surprisingly, the rooms on the upper floor provide the best views.

What a view! From our room and huge balcony we did look out over Robben Island and the Atlantic Ocean and enjoyed a nice glass of wine while watching a spectacular sunset.
Great place to base yourself for a couple of days: spacious room, well equipped kitchen, spacious bedroom and separate living area. Their spa is great and it only cost R50-00 to go to the V&A by taxi!
