a very good choice of hotel. was initially concerned about staying in the centre of Cape Town, but the hotel is so well located (halfway between Table Mountain and the Waterfront) - the hotel room is actually a spacious one bedroom apartment, with a full kitchen, lounge and dining room. The only 2 (very small) negatives, is the bedroom was not en-suite, and lack of TV in the bedroom. Everything else was great - a fantastic coffee shop in the lobby - very friendly people in the hotel - the pool deck is fantastic and a great place for lunch or supper (if the weather is good!!!)

Excellent accommodation with a very nice souvenir shop in the lobby. A very cheap restaurant with excellent meat balls and a very helpful staff. Amazing breakfast by the pool side.

I stayed in this hotel about a year and a half ago with my friends from the US and it was terrific!! The staff was very accommodating and friendly. We always got very prompt, courteous service. The hotel room was wonderful and clean. They have two terrific restaurants, a wine cellar and an awesome spa!! The location is also unbeatable because we were within walking distance of many great restaurants and downtown activities. I look forward to my next trip to Cape Town and would definitely stay in this hotel again. I highly recommend it!

We got a very good rate at this hotel - I don't know if they generally offer deals, but we found it less expensive per night than some 3* hotels. Excellent restaurants in the lobby. Friendly staff, very helpful. Rooms were very spacious indeed -they are really apartments. No problems at all, contra some reviews on this site. We travelled with friends who had another room, and they reported no problems there either. Only quibble - slight - is that the hotel is opposite the cathedral, which attracts beggars, and they may approach you for money. Not unusual in Africa of course, but it could intimidate some.

I stayed here in January, 2 days on my own, 2 days with my other half. The hotel staff are brilliant from the guys on the door onwards. Reception area modern and clean, choice of restaurants in the hotel. I had a deluxe room which turned out to be a 2 bed apartment fully equipped! The room was modern, clean and perfectly appointed. The location is great for exploring the city and surroundings. Very close to the Company Gardens, walking distance to many attractions, a great souvenir market just outside and lots of cafes etc. 10 mins by taxi to the Waterfront. We got a great deal via Expedia and would definitely visit this hotel again. Would recommend CitySightSeeing bus to get about. Great value and a great service.

After being on a camping safari for 3 weeks, the Mandela Rhodes was exactly what we needed. Located centrally in Cape Town it is very handy to get to most of the things you would want including being walking distance to the restaurants and night life on Long street. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment, it was massive! With 2 bathrooms, and the bedrooms up opposite ends you don't even know someone else is in the apartment with you. Very clean, and comfortable. There is a nice outdoor pool also.
