This is a charming B&B, owned by a charming family. Jonny and Sharon go out of their way to be helpful. The food is excellent, the rooms are spacious, the view is spectacular, and the location is great. It is the best place I have stayed in in Cape Town. I have been back more than once, and will go back again.

We were recommended this lovely guest house by a friend and we cannot speak highly enough of the friendly welcome we received from its owners,Jonny and Sharon. The guest house nestles in the foothills of Table Mountain and the views of Cape Town from the breakfast bar are tremendous along with a lovely breakfast of fresh fruit, cereals, and full cooked Engish bacon, eggs and mushrooms. We stayed for two nights on arriving in South Africa and then left and visited other towns olong the Garden Route.
After 8 days we returned and the welcome from Sharon was lovely, it really felt like coming back home. Thanks again for a wonderful holiday.

We are from Italy and have stayed at this wonderful B&B 2 months ago. the actual place is very pleasant, great location and the 2 hosts Johnny and Sharon are very efficient and helpful giving their guests very useful informations on how to make the best of their time in Cape Town. Myself and my wife work for the biggest coach Tour Operator in the world and have obviously seen an incredible number of hotels throughout Europe,so we can defenetely see the difference between a good and bad place, so we can easily recommend the Redbourne Hilldrop Guesthouse in Cape Town. I have been staying with Jonny and Sharon at Redbourne for years now on regular business and leisure trips to Cape Town. Truth be told, I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Cape Town; the only reason I do is out of necessity when they are full (they are very popular so book early!).

Redbourne is featured in the Greenwood Guide to South Africa, and this guide talks about how at home one feels minutes after setting foot in the door. I couldn't agree more. On my first stay we became fast friends. Jonny, Sharon, the kids and the dogs make you feel like you are one of bunch and that you are always welcome.

Breakfasts are sumptuous and home-cooked, and the view from the breakfast area is breath-taking - the entire city bowl and ocean at your feet. The location of this B&B is excellent; so close to the heart of what's going on in the city and yet so peaceful, perched on the mountainside in Oranjezicht in the shadow of Table Mountain. Rooms are comfortable and each one has a different flavor and feel to it. It is also a small place (4 rooms only) and this helps it maintain its cozy and friendly feel. Do yourself a favor and stay here when you come to Cape Town. You'll want to keep coming back.
