A really nice spot on Long Street. Went there for breakfast, has a great menu and really good service. Ate the poached eggs on bruschetta with pesto, tomatoes and bacon was delicious! Would love to come here again while staying in Cape Town.

Hadn't been to Lola's for six or seven years since I last lived in Capetown.

I just had breakfast.

Coffee and the days special.

It was emotional.

Massively pleasantly surprised the first time I came here - it used to be a crusty old vegetarian restaurant but Lola's is easily the most underrated lunch spot in the cbd. Fresh produce every day - it's easy to tell, particularly when ordering fish - and the little things you hope for but seldom get at breakfast (great coffee, perfect soft poached eggs, creative options like anchovy toast with fresh tomato and parmesan). I heard the head chef/owner did his training at Olympia cafe in kalk bay during its heyday and it shows in the fresh foccacia, ciabatta and cakes baked on site. Good value too. Have been here easily 20 times since first visit a few months ago and always excellent.

We happened upon Lola's while wandering Long Street, and returned a couple of times. They've a good selection of regularly changing and very tasty meals at great value- their breakfast menu also looks excellent. Also some decent wines at good prices.

Two big pluses for me- free WiFi, and they're open Sundays, unlike many other places on Long St.

The breakfast is superb! The staff is very warm, friendly and funny! We were here in Cape Town for five days and we went to plenty of restaurants and this was one of the best.
