“Magnificent and personal Guest House”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 August 2012

We stayed 2 nights at the Nine Flowers guest House. The welcome was very friendly and personal, and there was a good atmosphere. We received precious hints for exploring the city right after our first breakfast, which was also more than worth coming out of bed for! The parking place across the street was very convenient, and our (family) room (kids and parents separated) was excellent (and clean!). Location wasn't bad at all either. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone else (and our apologies for our late review).

This was our second stay at Nine Flowers and we would definitely return. It's a great base in Cape Town because it's easy to find from the airport; it has secure parking; the hosts are helpful and welcoming; there are only a few bedrooms; it's tastefully furnished and full of character; it has good free wifi and the rooms have safes. The 8 guest rooms are smart and chic, giving it the feel of a boutique hotel. Tip – ask for a room at the back of the house if quiet is important.

We spent 4 nights at the Nine Flowers, and it was the perfect way to start our trip to South Africa. We were incredibly lucky to have found Nine Flowers – Marrin, our hostess, planned out our itinerary in South Africa by responding to what we like and her planning and attention to detail was impeccable.

We enjoyed many aspects of the trip, from the warm welcome we received at Nine Flowers (we miss Ida and Liz already!) to the stunning natural beauty of the Eastern and Western Cape that we got to explore thanks to the suggestions made by Marrin. But most of all, I think we really enjoyed interacting with some remarkable people and listening to their views on a fascinating country, all introduced to us by Marrin at the Nine Flowers.

The stay at Nine Flowers itself was something that we enjoyed a lot. It is perfectly located and wonderfully cosy. The meal at Societi Bistro was one of the best we’ve had in the last year. And the fig, grape and blue cheese breakfast special at Nine Flowers was quite exceptional .

It is one of the best overall stay experiences we've had in any city across the world.

The perfect spot to start trips in and around Cape Town, a wonderful retreat to return back "home". Spotlessly clean, warm and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast buffet. If you're lucky you can get Matthias (co-owner) to make you a sportsman's special - rich and delicious!

I stayed at Nine this week on recommendation from a fellow passenger on another business trip. What a pleasant surprise - lovely comfortable bed; good breakfast; friendly staff - very helpful. And Maria's Greek restaurant just around the corner! And safe parking! Would have given it a 5 rating if the stairs were not so steep - but the fireplace and the lovely wooden floors make up for that.

This is a great place within walking distance from everything you need, including down town. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The place is clean and nicely decorated and has a great court yard to sit on a mild summer night. Excellent breakfast buffet.

What a gem! We really enjoyed every single day (and night) at Nine Flowers. Our room was super clean and comfy, the staff was absolutely lovely and very well-trained - and the owners are always helpful and can give you all these secret recommendations! They also offer a wide choice for breakfast (we enjoyed it on the romantic patio). We'll be back!!!
