“Amazing rooms, great central location”
Reviewed 8 February 2013

If you want to stay in the city centre the location is perfect. 5-10 minute walk from Long Street, 20 minutes to V&A Waterfront. We stayed in a luxury suite which was huge, extremely spacious and beautifully furnished (particularly the large bathtub!) Extremely clean and each day we were left a weather report and a chocolate on the pillow - nice little touches.
Very friendly staff willing to help with all queries and getting taxis when needed.
Biggest downside to the hotel is the lack of free WiFi, this is a paid service only based on usage. Also the pool on the roof was extremely small, too small too lounge in, and there is no real protection from the sun on the roof. Finally the breakfast left a lot to be desired, bread was rather stale and not a lot of choice in the cold selection.
Overall a great stay and a great price. Don't be fooled by the outside appearance of the hotel - it is a hidden gem!

Great location if you want to see the inner city and be close to the Waterfront. The hotel is clean and the rooms are big enough. A little maintenance on the balcony door would help to open and shut it but otherwise fine. It’s paid parking and paid wifi so that is a bit of a down side.
Remember where you are and that at times it will be noisy but not as bad as staying on Long street.

We stayed in the luxury suite, and it was very clean and spacious with quality features. What we liked most about the Adderley was its prime location in the center of Cape Town. It is just a few blocks from all things practical (cafes, banks, phone stores) and fun (Company Gardens, Greenmarket Square, Long Street). A short taxi ride takes you to the V&A Waterfront. Another convenience: taxis are queued right in front of the hotel. Wi-fi is available if you purchase vouchers from the front desk.

FYI, the rooftop pool isn't their best feature, since it's tiny and only gets sun midday (which is not when you want to be outside). Also, I would not eat at the hotel--there are so many other restaurants to try in the surrounding blocks.

One last thing: the hotel only has a limited number of rooms so we found it difficult to extend a reservation after the initial booking. Rooms fill up quickly, so be sure to plan ahead.

This hotel does not look much from the outside ,but hidden inside are spacious and very comfortable suites !Not only are the rooms very comfortable and well equipped but the staff are very helpful and food in the restaurant is excellent .
Only slight negative is the very small roof top pool, although there are plenty of chairs for getting the sun/watching the kids and the view of Cape Town is awesome !
I was there with two children (9 + 15)both of whom loved the hotel and the really friendly reception staff.

Room Tip: Book early ,this is a very popular hotel ! Restaurants ,shops and even a flower market are just a co...

We stayed 4 nights and were very happy with the room and service except for the restaurant. Would gladly have given this hotell highest grade for value for money, but the restaurant couldn't produce even half the menu and courses came out without all garnish etc. One morninig at breakfast there was even rancid fruit. The good news is that there are some excellent places to get breakfast within 5 min walk.
The location is really good both for business and tourist travels. Stay here, but don't eat!

The junior suite, which is hardly more expensive than the regular rooms, was enourmous. It covered two floors, had two bathrooms, two tv's, a kitchenette. Very nice and very clean. The staff is very welcoming. Unfortunately one member of the staff forgot to pass a message on to us, on a tour the next morning, creating quite a hassle. The location is very good, right in the centre of Capetown and just a few minutes walk from the trainstation, long street, loads of restaurants and a few supermarkets. 30-40 minutes walk to V&A. Breakfast is not good value for money though.

The swimming pool (plunge pool) is quite cold.

Room Tip: The junior suite that was located on two floors was great value for money.

We spent 1 night @ this hotel and were very comfortable, although slightly disappointed that after a late arrival (10.05pm) due to a train derailment, we arrived starving only to be told that the kitchen closed at 10.00pm - a sandwich would have done the job, however this was not possible. We had to make do with coffee and a biscuit in the room! Otherwise, the room was clean and comfortable but I do feel they could have been more accommodating with a sandwich. I suppose that's the difference between a B&B and a hotel - personal service!

Room Tip: Bit of traffic noise in the front rooms!
