“Superb guest house”
Reviewed 2 April 2013

We have now stayed at the Constantia Valley Lodge three times and each time have found no place we would rather stay. The rooms are all very luxurious with large comfortable beds and most are a very good size. The garden with its swimming pool are beautiful and sitting round the pool is a joy. Breakfast is a highlight with wonderful fruit salads and breakfasts cooked to order. I can't recommend it more!

Room Tip: Rooms 5 and 6 in the main building are the best rooms.

Tucked away in a quiet cul-de-sac and only 10mins walk from Constantia Village Centre you will find, if you look hard enough CVL - A Hidden Gem. The rooms are mainly spacious, very comfortable and generally very light and airy.
There is a lovely garden with a swimming pool which is well laid out for sunbathing and for relaxing in the shade. Rene (Renaa) and Andrew are excellent host's with a ready smile, willing and helpful.
Breakfast is excellent with a good selection breads, cheese and fruit. All hot food is cooked to order. Coffee and Tea is available on a help yourself basis which ensures that it is always hot when you want it.

Room Tip: Garden facing rooms are generally nicer

This is the idea place to relax and unwind. Sitting in the wonderful garden you do not hear sound and the pool is immaculately clean. The breakfasts are outstanding. We had one of the garden rooms and I would recommend these or one upstairs if you are lucky enough to get one as not surprisingly there are many returning guests. The owner Rene is very keen to ensure you have everything you require. The house is perfectly located for visiting excellent places to eat. The surrounding countryside is glorious. We will return.

Room Tip: Book as early as you can.

My wife and I had a fabulous stay at Constantia Valley Lodge. The accommodation was absolutely wonderful; the room, the garden, the pool and the delightful breakfasts. Rene and all her staff could not do enough for us and made our stay very memorable. We would definitely recommend Valley Lodge as a place to stay if you are visiting Constantia and we have every intention of returning.

Thank you so much for making our four night stay at Constantia Valley Lodge so amazing. The bedrooms are lovely, very comfortable, spacious and tastefully furnished. We arrived after a long flight from the UK at eleven at night and were greeted by the ever smiling Eric who let us choose our room as we were the only guests it being low season. We just sank into a very comfortable bed and slept deeply. We had an ensuite cloakroom, a dressing room and one of the most fantastic bathrooms I've ever seen. Breakfast was lovely, served in a conservatory over looking the garden and pool. Lots of choice; cereals, fruit, cheese, bread, tea, coffee and juice, we were offered a cooked breakfast but the fruit and cereals had looked so tempting we were full so declined. Rene our host couldn't do enough to ensure we had a good stay and recommended lots to do. There is a comfortable lounge for guest use with a roaring fire and we were welcome to use the kitchen, which we did to heat up some pizzas bought at the nearby supermarket. There is an honesty bar but Rene wouldn't hear of us paying for the two bottles of wine we enjoyed (hey it is the wine producing region!) as we had got up early on two of the mornings to go diving Renee said we had missed two breakfasts so would we allow her to pay for the wine. The lodge is secure a short easy drive from Cape Town, which is stunning. We were very sad to leave.....

We loved staying here - the room was palatial and the bathroom immense. The breakfast was delicious and the service was very friendly and helpful. On our second day I had hurt my back and Rene sent me to her own doctor for treatment and we really appreciated her help as we wouldn't have had a clue where to go!

We'd definately recommend you hire a car if you're staying here as it's about 20 mins drive from Cape Town.

Rene,

Thank you for everything. Your place is perfect. It's on a quiet, dead-end street in a lovely residential neighborhood within walking distance to a fabulous work out facility. Lovely, large and very, very clean rooms with a lovely sitting area inside and out. Wonderful pool right outside your room. Your breakfast's are delicious and made to order with the best bread i have had in all of Capetown. Central location to the Botanical Gardens, to the airport which is a 20 minute drive and to the V& A waterfront.

Kind regards,
Tim and Linda, Santa Fe, NM, USA

Room Tip: Just book it, you will not regret it!
