We had a 3 course meal with some wine and I tell you what... Well oh well!
From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave... The whole environment and atmosphere warmly surround you. The service is unmatched and the food likewise complements!

We had a magic lunch here yesterday, great talent from the kitchen, lovely breads to start. We had Duck croquettes as a starter, was really 10 out of 10, I had a Caesar with Chicken and Soft deep fried egg it really was incredible, hey it's a simple dish done by lots of local restaurants but never has the magic touch, this one was executed to perfection, finished with a banana parfait with chocolate sorbet, A classic Gordon Ramsay dessert from Aubergine but again I must say it was faultless bravo to this young kitchen team who are turning out world class food. Can't wait to go back, service was also super friendly and fun, they were having some changes on their wine list and didn't have the first 2 wines we wanted( the ones under R200 which was a pity overall but not for me but I guess it could irritate other diners.

Just being here is a treat - the tea and scones are a bonus.The gardens at Cellars-Hohenhort are legendary and with the mountain backdrop, the setting unsurpassed. Tea is served in the lounge -a glowing fire, tasteful decor and friendly staff impart a gentle elegance. The scones come with the usual jam and cream and butter (with a pressed motif), and both tea and coffee arrive in generous pots. It is a quiet venue - a very very special place.

Last night was my birthday!! I was to be treated to a special dinner in a restaurant we had not been before. Hence The Conservatory ... The Greenhouse being closed for renovations:-( When it was booked, we were asked if it was a special occasion, the reply was, yes, my colleague's birthday!. However, nothing was ever mentioned of this, not even ... a Happy Birthday. Which as the birthday boy was disappointing, even when one gets older (76) one does liked to be spoilt a little!

That apart, the evening was great. The restaurant was quiet, being the middle of winter but we had drinks by the fire (a super whisky sour for me) where my host started the wine, the wine list tends toward expensive for us mere mortals but we found an excellent one at reasonable price, suggest they add a few more at similar prices as not everyone likes to pay R300 plus for a bottle of wine here in SA..

Service was warm and friendly. Food was served promptly. Dishes were beautifully presented. Linguini Nero and Cheese Soufflé (especially) were superb as were the deserts. Mains too, nicely presented with great tastes.

This will be highly recommended to our guests as we have a Guest House in Sea Point. We will definitely visit again, probably at lunch so that we can appreciate the garden setting.

Great food and good selection of local constantia wines. Conservatory was very flexible in fitting us in as a group of 12. Beautiful grounds and recommend asking for a window table with views to the mountain if sitting outside is not possible. Service was pleasant but seemed stretched.
