Description: The Conservatory, situated adjacent to the historic Cellars-Hohenort cellar, offers diners unparalleled garden vistas from both the sun-drenched terrace and the indoor tables. Carefully constructed around a giant 300-year-old oak tree, The Conservatory is one of Constantia's finest daily breakfast, lunch and dinner venues. Here the head chef creates hotel classics alongside modern and seasonally influenced dishes. The Conservatory menu places a great emphasis on fresh produce from both The Cellars-Hohenort gardens and local green-friendly suppliers, and this gives it the unique ability to showcase a true taste of the Constantia Valley. Friendly service and an award-winning wine list ensure that The Conservatory offers guests and locals an exceptional everyday dining experience.

The restaurant and hotel are very beautifully situated. I have been here on family occasions several times now. The food is unpredictable but generally good. Unpredictable food is definitely not what you expect from such a place. I have had awful tough beef, beautiful tasty venison. My granddaughter wanted a well done burger but is was raw inside. The service is always awful. The waitrons are not at all attentive; in fact today we had 5 different waitrons and it took 2 and half hours to have a two course meal. Don't go there if you don't want to spend the whole afternoon having lunch.

I recently had the pleasure of attending a brilliant 6 course dinner with wine pairing at the Cellars Hohenort.

Having heard that a new Head Chef ( Paul Nash) had been appointed at the Conservatory we opted to have our yearly Team outing there instead of the Greenhouse. Chef Paul 's culinary skills have previously been tested in establishment like The Roundhouse and The Werf Restaurant @ Boschendal.

We where definitely not disappointed! The Man and his team prepared a truly remarkable culinary experience for us. Each dish was beautifully paired with great wines and deciding on a favorite impossible. Classical cooking techniques combined with a modern twist, each dish executed flawlessly. Service was smooth and efficient, our waiter being extremely knowledgeable and attentive. We where definitely well looked after.

Both me and my colleagues have been working in hospitality for many years locally and abroad. The consensus was it to be one of the best meals any of us have had up to date. I would highly recommend going there if you are looking for a special experience.

Thank you Paul for a great meal!!

The English Breakfast still haunts my dreams! I shall be back. The extremely friendly staff always ensured that we had fresh fruits, fresh juice and always whipped up something delicious for breakfast.

We enjoy Sunday lunch at the Conservatory, being from the surrounding area, and pop in at least once every 3 months or so. On our most recent visit, we were surprised as to how busy they were - especially considering the rainy and cold weather. Food was predictably good, with the soufflé starter being one of my favorite dishes. Unfortunately service on this occasion was just not up to par, and in several instances we were left staring around the room looking for help. The manager eventually came out to a apologize, as our main course arrived before our starters did, and then took almost an hour to come out the second time. Pity, but we will give them another shot in a couple of months on the assumption that they perhaps had an off day.

We were on holiday from the UK and entertained our guests here in December 2016. The view from our restaurant of the fantastic garden was spectacular. The restaurant built around a tree in the middle made the setting very special. The waiting staff were all very attentive and knowledgeable. All 4 of us enjoyed our dining experience and I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to friends visiting the Cape.
