We planned on staying one night at Baleens, but changed to 2 after getting there. We loved the wonderful building and the African furniture and furnishings. The stained glass window with proteas was beautiful! We had booked a family room that sleeps 4 (there were three of us), and were given two rooms; one with sea and mountain views and the other with an outrageous sea view! We could easily have seen whales.... if the whales had decided to make an appearance (which they did not). The rooms were spacious. The family room had a sitting area, a little kitchen with table... so could have been self serve... but we ate breakfast downstairs in the large dining area... home cooked by Nato! Nato gave us great references for dinners in town. Town is a 15 minute drive.... so Baleens is not a place to stay if you need to walk to stores or restaurants. However, the area is quiet and safe and you can walk across the street to the beach. The communal area was large, with game room, two sitting rooms, one with fireplace, and a free use computer. Free wi-fi too. Thanks for a wonderful time Nato and Baleens!
