What a unique little find! Tucked away on a farm in the Hemel and aarde valley, lunch by appointment only, well worth a visit. Cosy setting, nicely decorated, small menu yet good variety to chose from. Food was absolutely delicious! Every dish prepared with detail and so well presented. Flavours were just fabulous!! Treat yourself and visit Mogg's for something special

A field of lavender along the edge of a tranquil lake is your first encounter of the hidden and not so hidden treasures of this restaurant - As you step out to of your car to enter the quaint and ever so special Mogg's Counry Cookhouse you are met by a team of family dogs. Mogg's is a magical and bustling little country cottage restaurant - that in winter has a fire burning to warm your toes while the home prepared dishes warm the cockles of your heart and fill your tummy to bursting point. The citrus bread and butter pudding we had at the end of our hearty luncheon left me wanting to return for more - sooner rather than later. We will be back in October to share in more of this genuine country fare!

We had no idea what to expect on a rainy cold day, following a sign for MOGG'S. What a wonderful surprise awaited us. A Lovely log fire warmed the cosy room and even though it was out of season and mid week there were quite a few visitors. Our waitress was great and nothing was too much trouble. Their garden salad with a mint dressing was really scrumptious. We both had their chicken and mushroom pie. Really well done and nicely presented while reasonably priced (R75). Citrus bread and butter pudding with home made ice cream could not be resisted! Heavenly! Well worth the drive. It would be prudent to book though, as they are booked up every Sunday it seems and often during the week too.
