Description: La Vierge, French for 'The Virgin', is nestled in the folds of the breathtaking Hemel-en-Aarde Valley (Heaven and Earth) close to Hermanus. Our lovingly tended vineyards, situated in Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge, are characterized by long cool summers influenced by the close proximity of the Atlantic Ocean. Using sketches and drawings by renowned British artist, Sir Michael Adams who works and lives in the Seychelles, a design language was created that reflects the rich symbolism associated with the Hemel-en-Aarde area. Our crest represents Adam and Eve pondering the Serpent and Apple.

Our hotel recommended this restaurant although we have had received mixed feedback. We had a prime table at the huge window overlooking the Hemel and Aarde Valley - such splendour! We had absolutely no complaints about the food since it was top notch and it paired well with a La Vierge Chardonnay. The pork belly can really be recommended.

We arrived here on the spur of the moment decision. They fitted us in with a great table at the main window. Service, food etc was very good even though they were very busy - highly recommended.

We were out for the day, tasting the wines the area had to offer and popped in for lunch. Having not been here before did not know what to expect of the food. We were on a tight schedule and hence only had time for mains and I was not disappointed. I had the Asian Pork Belly which was delightful. Having not done any wine tasting at La Vierge, our waitress kindly gave us a taster of two reds from which we proceeded to choose the Nymphomane, which was equally delightful as the food. We were also lucky enough to have a table with a wonderful view. (Even the ladies has a glorious view of the valley;) )
Will be back again ensuring we have more time in hand to enjoy more of the spectacular views and food.

The Hemel and Aarde Valley is world famous for excellent wineries. La Vierge is no exception. Their wines are excellent and I love the labels and the stories behind every wine. The menu is very limited unfortunately and they don't really cater for vegetarians. The food is excellent however. The service outstanding and the views - magnificent.
Essential to book.

Second time we had lunch here. This time we had wine tasting first and were pleasantly surprised with their wines.! The shiraz and the Nymphomane is recommendable!. Had ceasar salad and Pork belly for main - and Mussel for a starter which was huge! Too much even to share.

Will definitely go back!
