A great friendly restaurant that is both intimate & welcoming. The food was great, service was good despite being very busy, and the price was very reasonable - around R600 with tip for a family of five

Thank Jim M

we came here on recommendation of the owner of the guest house we stayed in. the annie se kombuis is a very cosy place in a quiet side street. the restaurant quichkly filled up but despite the full restaurant being full it never felt crowded. the 2 ladies provided an excellent service and did not get tired of our many questions. they explained us the traditional south african meals and recommended a great dessert. you must try the Ma Se vrugte pavlova!! every dish we saw coming out of the kitchen looked excellent and the 2 main courses we had were just delicious with a great value for money. we had a great evening there with a perfect introduction into south african cuisine

We had a wonderful meal last night. I would definitely return especially for the steamed mussels in coconut, lemon grass and green curry!! My husband had the venison pie and is still talking about it. We will not even mention the PAVLOVA! Yum!

Stumbled across this delightful restaurant down a side alley. We were about to carry on looking elsewhere for some place to eat but as we approached the waitress stood at the door so we decided to give it a go. So pleased we did! Good atmosphere and excellent food, my husband had the seven different dishes tasting menu and I chose the hake, we both enjoyed our choices and the puddings........Started off by sharing one, but had to then order a second. Wish we had had more time in Hermanus to try more dishes.

We were the only people in the restaurant and the waitress forgot out starters. We waited ages and then all of a sudden our mains arrived! The food tasted like it had been heated up in the microwave, it was EXTREMELY piping hot and had that taste of it had been prepared before and re-heated. We didn't stay for dessert. I picked this place based on the reviews of home cooked meals and considering we only stayed in Hermanus for one night I was disappointed that our only meal out turned out to be not that great :(
