This restaurant is virtually on the Blue Flag beach and the location is absolutely stunning. The new management have revitalised the restaurant and one is greeted by charming, vivacious and knowledgeable staff. More importantly there is a new chef who would put many chefs in fancy restaurants to shame. The standard of food has soared. The menu is varied and one can even have white mussels from the beach in front of the restaurant. We had luncheon and sat outside in glorious sunshine. We ordered a drink and complementary home baked cheese biscuits were served. We requested filet steak, one medium and one medium rare. They arrived just as we wanted them and served with an excellent mushroom sauce which was obviously made in the kitchen and not some concoction out of a bottle or a packet. The fried potatoes were crisp and freshly cooked. For desert we enjoyed Venetian kisses which were mixed ice cream with different coatings and pierced with a stick. The coffee was perfect. The restaurant is a delight at any time of the day and in the evening one can sip cocktails, or have a meal, and watch the sun go down. The ambience is very romantic. We live in Hermanus and if you enjoy good food and a lovely atmosphere then this is the place to be.
