This delightful boutique hotel has an excellent location, being less than 100m from the sea. Indeed you can sit on your balcony (if you have one) and watch the Southern Right whales and their calves wallowing in the bay. The hotel is very attractive, complete with wooden shutters, large well equipped bedrooms, pretty garden and pool area. It is obvious that the hotel rooms, common areas and pool area have recently been refurbished, with the hotel conveying the 'shabby-chic' French look, which we found appealing. Breakfast, which was excellent, was taken across the road in a local restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating, again with views directly out to sea. Staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly and only too willing to arrange whale watching trips, advise on local restaurants, etc. We found at least six restaurants within 10 minutes' walk of the hotel and would definitely recommend the Fisherman's Hut. However, whilst we had a room in the main hotel with balcony, rooms in the annex have neither balconies nor sea views and parking on the hotel forecourt is restricted, so not all guests would be able to park there should the hotel be full. Hence our overall rating of this hotel being very good rather than excellent, since in all other regards it deserves the top rating.

Room Tip: Worth the extra for a balcony with sea view

We stayed here for 2 nights in a poolside suite and can highly recommend this B&B. Our room was large, comfortable and included a kitchen area. Breakfast in the restaurant just across the road was excellent and the staff were very friendly. Very convenient location and we too could see the bay area from our private balcony.

Room Tip: Room 17 is a poolside suite with a balcony view of the bay area - but there are other rooms availabl...

We had one of the suites which was very spacious and well appointed. We need a doctor when we arrived and they contacted one and made an appointment for us.They were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble even when we had to leave early to return to the UK.

We stayed at the Auberge Burgundy for 1 night and what a beautiful place! So much character! We could only get a standard room and I think it's more about the locality of the room than the space or amenities. The room was spacious with a lovely French feel. The garden in front of the room was so beautiful and although we only stayed 1 night, we found the reception staff warm and friendly.
The only drawback for me personally was the fact that we were in room 1 on the ground floor and you could not open the curtains or door as all the guests have to pass your room and as I am claustrophobic, this was a huge problem for me as it left our room quite dark and without a view.
The location though, is perfect as it is opposite the old harbour and bustling Village Square.
For our next visit, I would book well in advance to secure a suite.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the square

We stayed in the poolside suite for one night and loved it! This guest house has lots of charm to it and is located beside the sea. We were even able to whale watch from our window which was fantastic. They have a lovely sheltered pool area where you can relax and soak up the rays should you wish to. The staff were very friendly and even left a bottle of bubbly in our suite as a surprise to congratulate us on our honeymoon!

I stayed two nights, and it was perfect. The Friendly staff where more than able and willing to accomodate me by helping me organise a neat surprise for my wife, some champaign and flowers to our room! Clean, spacious comfortable rooms, and we had a great view of the ocean and whales in the distance. We stayed in the poolside suite. This 4 star hotel offers a great central location, walking distance to the towns markets, shops, restaurants and beach. Breakfast was great too and served right across the road a few meters from my room.

Perfect

Room Tip: There are 3 - 4 poolside suites on level 1, while our's was close proximity to the street, it...

We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed our stay. The location could not be more convenient to the town, restaurants and as for the Whales we watched them breaching, tail slapping from our balcony....not bad eh! Breakfast across the road at the Burgundy restaurant was fab, with excellent food and service.
