A nice well located room but we were put in the annexe of the hotel. Although we had a nice room the view from the hotel would be have so much better from the main hotel. Which was empty so they could have put us there. Ok but think there is nicer out there

Dear Guest

Thank you very much for this review. It is always good to look at other perspectives.
The hotel has a large room selection to suit every need and taste. Please see on our website if booking in future. The cheaper rooms which falls in a certain price category where you were booked on the outside of the hotel in the annex might not be as exclusive but still beautiful and very much in demand.
We have to state it clear that we LOVE to upgrade guests if there is availability. I presume there was no availability in the hotel otherwise you would have been upgraded. The hotel IS very popular and are running a high percentage of occupancy.
Thanks Once again we would love to welcome you back!

Regards

I loved all the 'historic' furniture throughout the hotel - it gave it a nice 'homey' feeling. It's definitely excellent value for money and the staff was very professional and friendly. I would recommend the hotel to anyone.

Standard bed & breakfast hotel, water front property, good services. A bit out-dated in decor & design, but relatively standard & definitely better than most in Europe. Feels secure with the big gates.

Dear Guest

Thank you very much for this review.
We have a large room selection to suit every need and taste. Please see on our website if booking in future. The hotel ROOMS new decor is only a few months in use not outdated but very new. The cheaper rooms on the outside in the annexe might not be this exclusive but still very much in demand. The very popular heritage cottage in the gardens is fitted with older furniture to match the heritage.

We were a group arrival of 14, on arrival we were greeted by two friendly porters who promptly took care of our bags. We were welcomed to the hotel by the receptionist an English woman I think she was the assistanct manager, very friendly. She had kindly organised for our rooms to be in the main hotel so we were all given complimentary upgrades and were near each other. The rooms were bright and spacious. Later when we came back the room had been turned down, two chocolates left on the side table & a lovely red rose. The next morning we were looking forward to a lovely lie in & my boyfriend was a bit put out to be woken up by the receptionist calling us to see if we would be going for breakfast. The hotel is beautiful, a lovely library with a great selection of books you can borrow, a PC with free internet access and a great chess board. Over all we had a great time in this hotel and I would recommend to stay, we were lucky to be have given a good price and I dont know if we would have stayed if we had been charged their rack rate. My only issues were that on our first evening their was no hot water for a shower, if you dont eat the chocolates that are left out for turn down they are taken away the next morning and I called to reception at 9.45pm to ask if it was possible to get a mineral and was told that there was no room service or no where in the hotel to get a drink even though it says that the restaurant is open until 10pm. But again over all we had an enjoyable stay.

Dear Guest

Thank you very much for this review. It is highly appreciated!
As the breakfast buffet closes at ten in the morning and some guests oversleep (perhaps due to the lovely champagne air Hermanus is known for) they usually appreciate reception reminding them with a call, we regret that it inconvenienced you. There were a problem with a water pipe during the night and it was attended to. Appreciate you brought it to our attention.
The Restaurant is outsourced and does take their last orders at 9h30 as it closes at ten as indicated in the hotel folders. We however will take this up thank you for bringing it to our attention. (Also there is a minibar in the hotel rooms which as indicated can be stocked on your arrival if guests so wish.)Thanks for mentioning the rose we love to have our guests spoiled with such tokens of appreciating them;)
Thanks Once again we would REALLY love to welcome you back!

Wife and I stayed here for 2 nights on our Garden Route tour of SA. Misty Waves is located in a great location, walking distance to everything in town. Beautiful setting, overlooking the ocean. Our room, in the annex, was comfortable. Slightly worn out furnishings, but easily overlooked. Staff are relaxed but friendly. I thought that the hotel was very good value for the money. Hermanus is a nice little town with many nice a galleries and activities.

Room Tip: Make su you get a room with a sea view. You'll save money by taking a room in the annex.
