We really enjoyed our stay at misty waves for 2 nights. Ticked all the box's, great location overlooking whales, good restaurant, nice room, fantastic and friendly staff. Only minor negative was parking was a little crowded. highly recommendedMore
We traveled to Hermanus to visit and support a family member who faces many immediate potential life threatening challenges. We needed a pleasant “home from home” atmosphere and welcoming environment to underpin ourselves during this time. We selected Misty Waves from its web page data relative to its equals and peers. What a pleasant surprise!! This is definitely not a "plastic, mechanically well rehearsed" service like most traditional 4 and 5 star chain hotels. From the first engagement with reception to the provision of local information, porter service, room service, restaurant, business lounge, hotel amenities and surroundings to the final farewell was nothing short of superb, friendly, courteous and professional. What a jewel!! It is so easy to recommend Misty Waves to any traveler, holiday family or business person with the utmost confidence.

Misty Waves feels… I guess luxurious, but a bit aged, when you walk in to the main building. We first got a room in the small "cottage" in the garden, but we did not even have time to unpack until we got an upgrade to a room in the main building. Both rooms were great, but the latter had a big nice bathtub and was the size of an average Stockholm apartment. So we were very satisfied :) Misty Waves is located right at the oceanside, and you actually see the whales from the hotel! As we were having breakfast there was a mom and baby whale playing around just in front of us. The breakfast is standard I would say, and the dining room is a bit dated, with carpeted floors and dark wood interior. The staff was friendly and helpful, we had a few laughs. Overall a nice stay, nothing extraordinary, but I think it was quite cheap even though we stayed there in the middle of whale season.

The hotel is actually "brandnew" build only ten years ago and already been upgraded three times.:)

We were only able to spend 1 night here, on entering our room we wished we could stay longer. Our room was huge and tastefully decorated with a jacuzzi in bathroom. We were able to walk into town. The staff were very friendly and the buffet breakfast was a bonus. Dining room overlooks the sea. On booking the lady said if there was an upgraded room available upon checking in, we could have it, but unfortunately the hotel was full. But our room was really great.

stayed for 2 nights in hermanus. excellent customer service. we were upgraded on arrival to the honeymoon suite which was fantastic and had dinner at the hotel on the first night. limited menu but well cooked the location was in centre of town 5 mins walk to the harbour and whale watching from our room was priceless .free wifi and a lovely extensive breakfast couldnt get better.
