8 of us staying in 4 rooms for 3 nights. All rooms are clean and well conditions. I’m so surprise about the rooms that I’ve never expected such a high standard with the price that we are paying. Good service, the owner Lloyd is a good cook, we all enjoy the breakfast every morning.

Lloyd and Trish, the owners, were very, very busy to content and please us: they made bookings for restaurants and tee-off-times at the golf ( at Simola Golf with a strong reduced rate!). Lloyd picked us up for a "Sightseeing-Tour" through Knysna and to the Heads. The rooms were spacious and clean. The hole location was very nicely decorated.
Breakfast was very good. All employees were very watchfull and courteous, especially Martin!
Knysna is really a wonderfull place, Knysna Stays a great location! We enjoyed our stay a lot!

I dont know where to start talking about this guesthouse!! We arrived to be greated by the owners and staff to welcome us and take in all 7 peoples bags. Lloyd and Trish then gave us so much info about Knysna and made a reservation at a resturaunt and even had a bus come pick us up and leave us back to the house when we were ready!
The staff that worked there (Martin and the girls) were all so friendly and made a big effort to please everybody at breakfast. The best bit about the whole stay was the house. OMG the rooms were amazing, way fancier than any hotel i've ever been in and they all had a great view. This place was pure luxury and having been in Knysna before and paying a fortune for a hotel, I definitely wont make the same mistake again! We will be back next summer and will be staying at Knysna Stays for sure.

We stayed for one night only. LLoyd was kind to shows us The Heads and The Thessen Island with its great restaurants.
The free internet worked. The guesthouse is situated away from the main road so it was peacefull & relaxing.

We had great expectations about this place, but we were not completely happy about our stay. To be fair, we think that Lloyd and Trish have done a great job building up this place and that the rooms are comfortable and spotless and the price was alright. Yet not everything was to our likings:

- A number of details in the room were problematic. First, there was no mini-bar in the room (for a four star place!). As a result it was not possible to have a cold drink on the spacious balcony before/after dinner, which made the balcony much less attractive (while this was supposed to be a selling point). They may not have a liquor license yet, but they at least could put a fridge. Second, the water only slowly left the shower due to construction problems. Rather than to do something about it, however, the owners could not care less. Third, the free wifi did not work on iphones, which some people require for their work. While they had had the same complaint before, they did not seem in the mood to fix it. Fourth, there was no power in the bathroom (or I did not find it). Fifth, ventilation in the room and bathroom was terrible.

- The location of the guesthouse is not great. You only have partial views of the lagoon and you will need a car to get to town (or anywhere else). Since we enjoy our wine with dinner we asked for a taxi service, but the host found it apparently very difficult to arrange it (taxis were allegedly too expensive and were performing bad service), so we had to figure that out ourselves, which we did. The place is also badly indicated and nobody in town knows it - probably because it is still very new.

- We found that Lloyd was really trying too hard. He for example insisted that we would visit several of his favourite restaurants, one of which actually turned out very bad in quality. After this experience we decided not to take any chances and to go to restaurants that others had advised us to go (one of which was actually wonderful, yet Lloyd had strongly advised against it!). In the morning, during breakfast, we also felt that he was micromanaging his support staff. They were all very nervous about doing anything wrong. It would be good, if he would take some distance and realizes that different guests may have different preferences.

Because the host was a bit pushy, we never felt entirely comfortable in Knysna Stays. To his credit, he finally did get the hints and took a bit more distance, but it was too late.

Knysna made an indelible impression on us, with much credit to the host of Knysna Stays - Lloyd.
Upon reaching Knysna Stays, Lloyd came out personally to greet us and offered to give us a quick tour of the surroundings, including The Heads. At the Heads, we had our first ever whale watching experience from land! Earlier in our journey, we stopped over at Hermanus, hoping to see some whales. Unfortunately, we saw none. But this was more than made up for when we saw killer whales from The Heads! In fact, we saw 3 killer whales making a splash for around 20 mins! Lloyd kindly provided us with his binoculars which greatly enhanced the viewing! Watching these killer whales was a most special experience!
Besides introducing us to The Heads, Lloyd was very helpful in suggesting where we should go during our 2 nights stay. Due to his recommendation, we set off for Robberg Nature Reserve on our second day in Knysna. I had the best hike of my life and my husband claimed this as the highlight of our South Africa trip.
During our stay, Lloyd went out of his way to make sure that we were comfortable and helped with restaurant / tour bookings.
It was an incredibly awesome stay in Knsyna as we woke up each day to the beautiful scenery, started the day with the great breakfast and explored amazing places around Knysna and Plettenberg Bay.
Staying 2 nights was too short to fully enjoy Knysna. We will definitely return for more, and will stay at Knysna Stays for sure! Thanks Lloyd, Trish, Martin and the great staff at Knysna Stays for the great accoms and service!

Knysna Stays is one of my favourite accommodations in South Africa. We were welcomed by the owner and he just picked us up for a "Sightseeing-Tour" trough Knysna. This was great since we got a first overview to the city, restaurants and places to see.
The room was spacious, clean and very nicely decorated (everything new).
Breakfast was very good. We got a lot of infomation about what to do and where to eat in Knysna. This is really a lovely place and we enjoyed our stay a lot!
