“Staying with the Dutch”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

We had a very pleasant 4 days in Knysna and this was made even better by our lovely hosts, Natalie and Kate at Double Dutch. They really were excellent hosts and their bed and breakfast accommodation was superb, much better and of higher standard than you would expect of a typical B&B ! The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, and I recommend taking a bath in one of their spacious tubs.
As described in other reviews the breakfast is lovely and the setting superb. Natalie and Kate were always very helpful with any requests regarding the local attractions and places to eat.
Lovely place and people and great value for money.

Great views, nice rooms, but a bit too sterile to our taste.
Missing the coziness of a real B&B where you have an honesty bar etc...
Owners are very nice and give lot's of tips.
Nice pool, but no sun in the afternoon and cold water.

We had two nights on our trip from Pe to Cape Town. The suite was beautiful, the breakfast delightful, the atmosphere wonderful......

But the very best of all were our hosts - Kate and Natalie. We got a very warm welcome and a lot of good ideas for daytrips and restaurants (Olive tree was the best restaurant on our 3 weeks trip).

We definitely will come back again next year in october

Greetings

Dietmar + Sibylle

This is a 4.5-star place, 9 out of 10, that I'd love to stay in again.

The Dutch hosts are exceptionally considerate and friendly. Couldn't be kinder.

Great views of the lagoon from communal areas and most rooms (not the Falcon Room).

Nice gardens and pool with sun almost all day.

Comfortable room - good bed, peaceful.

Excellent breakfasts with first-rate coffee. Lovely presentation of dishes as well.

Fairly short walk to the lagoon and town centre - 5-10 mins there (downhill) and 10-15 mins back.

We stayed in the Falcon Room (no views of lagoon or garden) but had we stayed in a room with a view I'm sure I'd give Double Dutch 5 out of 5. Next time I'll book earlier and nab a room with a view.

Room Tip: All bedrooms except Falcon have outstanding lagoon and garden views. All communal areas enjoy these...

We had a wonderfull time at Double Dutch. The guesthouse is beautifull and perfectly situated; you can easily walk to town, the nice restaurants and the Waterfront. Klaske and Natalie are such perfect hosts and gave us such a warm welcome. They gave us very good tips for visiting the area, made reservations for restaurants, taxi etc. The rooms are very good and perfecty clean. The breakfast is delicious and in the afternoon we enjoyed a nice glass of wine, served at the pool, what do you need more?

We had a lovely time staying at the Double Dutch! We stayed for 2 nights, as it is in the perfect location to explore a lot of the garden route. Kate and Natalie are amazing hosts! The rooms are very comfortable, the breakfasts are delicious, and we had excellent restaurants recommended for dinner. I would definitely recommend Double Dutch to anyone who is traveling the garden route!
