“Fantastic scenery, great beach to walk along, swim, or sunbathe”
Reviewed 12 November 2013

If you are looking for somewhere to chill during your Garden Route drive this a great place to sit and spend time watching the world go by. Clean sand, safe beach and a nice cafe with decent food. If the sun shines there are not many better places to be and if you feel like some exercise then there are miles of sand to stroll along.

“Beautiful beach”
Reviewed 21 October 2013

It is a beautiful beach with a long stretch to walk. It is well maintained and clean. There is a restaurant on the beach and the food is good.
We saw lots of dolphins.
The view is really incredible!

“Beautiful beach.”
Reviewed 13 October 2013

Weather was beautiful, and we enjoyed a relaxing time watching the swimmers and sun bathers. We had a relaxing lunch on the deck - nothing really special, but a good salad and overall experience.

“Hidden gem of the Garden Route”
Reviewed 6 October 2013

Buffalo Bay is one of those places which most travellers only see on a signboard as they fly past on the N2 between Sedgefield and Knysna.

Take the trouble to take the turn-off and it is a short pretty drive to a beautiful, unspoilt beach with excellent surfing, empty beaches and excellent campsites right on the beachfront.

Often one sees pods of dolphins playing in the surf. There are designated braai areas a stone's throw from the sea where one can usually find a place to make a breakfast or braai without crowds most of the year except over Christmas.

You can take a leisurely beach walk from Buffalo Bay to Brenton on Sea (near Knysna) in complete safety.

One of our family's favourite beaches - and we visit whenever we can, Do not miss this if you love the beach.

“The best beach in the region.”
Reviewed 2 October 2013

Buffalo Bay (or Buffels Baai) is the best beach on the Garden Route. The parking and general facilities are good; the beach is large enough for everyone and the whole 'package' on offer makes this worth a trip. Make a point of driving around and enjoying the coastal scenery, the interesting village and the way the waves crash on the rocks nearby. Buffal Bay is located between Sedgefield and Knysna along the Garden Route.
