“Sublime seafood”
Reviewed 16 July 2014

Freshline Fisheries came highly recommended by friends who had stumbled across this gem of a restaurant during their recent visit to Knynsa and we were not disappointed. Our group of eight included four children, who were well entertained in the play area while waiting for lunch, leaving the adults to enjoy the relaxed outdoor dining experience to the full. The food was a generous helping of some of the best fish and chips I have tasted and the calamari was tasty too. Excellent value, very friendly and efficient service. A definite thumbs up!

“What a disappointment !”
Reviewed 15 July 2014

Being Knysna locals we regularly eat out or get in take aways resulting in a few good but some bad experiences.
From experience we have narrowed down our list to several outlets that we frequent and recommend without being disappointed.
Having had Freshline Fisheries recommend by a friend and reputable Guest House owner it was decided to give it a try with takeaways.
It was 17h30 that Freshline Fisheries was visited to check out the venue and to place an order for a very simple Hake and Chips.
The order took 20 minutes to process in which time we had a good look around to make our own judgement as to whether we would in future like to dine there.
Our combined view was that for a 'beach bar' type of venue it looked marginally acceptable, however, the Trip Advisor Certificate proudly displayed boasting a 4 1/2 star rating made it seem a lot more acceptable.
Well on arriving home, looking forward to 'tucking in' to the most delicious Hake and Chips was short lived.
The food was unacceptable !
The Hake was tasteless, the chips were dry and 'floury' and inedible, definitely the worst we have had for a long time.
To add insult to injury, the price was 15% higher then the general norm and we were left highly disappointed and hungry.
Unfortunately another one to cross off our list and write off to a bad experience and definitely not to be recommended to family, friends and overseas visitors.
What does it take to get management to be aware of how bad their food is and prevent such bad experiences at their potential clients expense ?

“Fun outdoor dining experience”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

We are Knysna residents, and Freshline Fisheries is our favourite seafood restaurant. They provide the freshest fish, fantastic value for money, and a lovely outdoor eating experience. It's very casual, but the service is always very good and the waitresses are friendly and charming. Bring your own drinks, they are not licenced. That in itself shaves quite a bit off the bill. At night they have several fires burning, which gives warmth and lovely ambiance. There is always a festive atmosphere amongst the patrons. Booking ahead is essential. This is the first place we like to take our visitors. Enjoy!
