Short but relaxing and special. Always worth a stop over but don’t expect a long hike. Worth going if you don’t want a long hike but feel like some peace and quiet.

We went paddling from the Riverdeck at Goukamma and enjoyed the water as well as the very relaxed atmosphere and wonderful pizza at the restaurant. Highly recommended, it's a place to just wind down and enjoy the food and drinks in a very chilled-out atmosphere. Great!

The 1st Days hike takes you along the Ridge overlooking the Sea and then later the Lake, later you drop down into an extensive Milkwood forest. After spending the night in Mvubu bush camp on the lake you start the 2nd day hike along the beach. This stretch is about 12 km and is done during low tide. The fossil dunes are very prominent along this beach stretch. All and All a very rewarding Hike

Wow - I've been here twice and it was entirely different both times. Once, the statins in the water created a brown/orange swirl running out to sea, the like of which I've never seen. The other time the water was 'normal', but the meanders are marvellous for lying back and watching the world go by, and I've not seen more than a couple of ther people on the beach either time. the waves in the sea can get big, so be careful, but it's absolutely worth the short drive off the main route. there was a hostel serving cold drinks by the car park last time I was there - very welcome after walking far enough up the estuary to float back down.
