We stayed three nights at the Knysna Hollow and couldn't fault the room or service at all. We were in one of the bungalow rooms and it was huge. We really liked the village feel of the hotel. It was quite a distance from Knysna waterfront which was a shame. The food was good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend the Featherbed Nature tour with the buffet lunch - really good value for money and fantastic views.

We were on a tour of South Africa and were booked in to stay at the Knysna Hollow for 2 nights, however on the day we arrived in Knysna, prior to booking in to the hotel, my friend fell and broke her hip. We were taken to the local private hospital where she had to have an emergency hip replacement operation. As a result of this our 2 day stay at the Knysna Hollow turned into 18 days and I do believe we were very lucky to be able to stay at this hotel.

The staff at the hotel were exceptional - they looked after both of us in our hour of need and provided a service above and beyond the call of duty which included obtaining a wheel chair, advising us on a wide range of issues and generally being there and supporting us through a very difficult time.

The hotel is a lovely place and well worthy of a longer stay than the usual 1 or 2 night stays that most people take on their tour of South Africa. The grounds are beautiful with a number of pools to choose from to relax and soak up the sun and some surprising birdlife. However the reception cat Charlie is a real delight. The rooms are very clean and the bathrooms large with good facilities. The restaurant provides a plentiful breakfast and an excellent evening menue - The Springbok Parcels are fab!

We are hoping to return for a further visit once the hip has fully recovered. Knysna Hollow Thank you very much for all your help and support.

We stayed here for 2 nights on the 21st October 2013 and were in Room 36.
The Reception and Staff were great and the room was a delight with comfortable beds set around a swimming pool area with loungers spaced out for relaxation. Our room had all the facilities with good reception around WiFi and fantastic furnishings. The grounds and rooms were set out in a lovely village feel.
The dining in the Restaurant was outstanding with the food exceptionally prepared and presented. The staff were fantastic. We can certainly recommend eating here as you will not be dissapointed with the food, its quality and presentation.

By far the best of the nine hotels we've stayed in since the start of our tour on October 6th.

We were here for two nights and we were fortunate to be assigned to a thatched roof chalet with a wood burning fireplace.

Room was very large, clean and comfortable with a bathroom big enough to get lost in.

Staff were super friendly and helpful - especially in the dining room.

Room Tip: Try to get a chalet

The hotel was very good, we stayed in a semi bungalow, which was clean and large with two radiators which were both on when we arrived as it had dropped cool that day. The pool was clean and our bungalows were arranged around the pool. They have three pools set in different locations with different types of accommodation around each pool. The food and service was very good and the hotel is close to Knysna town centre, which was vey interesting. We could also walk back to the hotel from the town along the water front which took us 40mins at a stroll.

The room had no heating apart from a log fire that constantly had to have logs added to it, so became cold over night and consequently the whole place smelt of a bonfire. The building also had a musty smell. The bathroom was cavernous with just a heated towel rail for warmth. The toilet was cracked and so was the basin. No idea why you would need twin showers a bath would be better at least you would be able to warm up in a bath! The room was advertised as having a safe but we were told there was non available and we were told we could not change to an alternative room. It was a long way from the waterfront so we ate in the restaurant one night the food was definitely average. I would definitely not recommend this place to other travellers.
