A lovely B&B situated high up on a hill in Knysna, with wonderful views across the lagoon to the Heads. Vanessa is a friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable host, with excellent advice about local attractions and restaurants. The bedrooms at the top were really large, with great bathrooms (and the 5 star views). Would definitely stay there again.

Sat high up on the hill above Knysna the Blue Oyster has fantastic views across the town and to the lagoon/heads and is set up to make the most of these views - especially from the numerous shared areas! The b&b itself is thoughtfully put together and very comfortable with helpful and knowledgeable staff and a generous breakfast. We would love to return to spend more time enjoying Knysna and the wonderful views of it from the Blue Oyster!

A very nice and fine B&B in Knysna with large rooms and a little pool outside. The owner was very helpfull with what you wanted to do in Knysna with many good advices and suggestions. The B&B was on the hill so it was quite a long way to go to the Waterfront,at least when going back so be prepared on that you you will have to take a taxi.

I put a lot of research into the places I stay at and deciding to stay at the Blue Oyster was no exception. Having read some excellent reviews on Tripadvisor, I am pleased to say that it lived up to and exceeded expectations.

It was just after the busy season, and even though we were the only guests staying at the Blue Oyster I know we received the same great treatment that other guests have experienced. I say bigger and better because I have stayed at many great hotels around the world but the size of the rooms (especially the bathroom) were huge and the service from Vanessa's team was attentive and excellent.

We followed up on all of Vanessa's recommendations and were not disappointed by any where we visited or ate it; her local knowledge is really better than any guide book/website you could read. Would be sure to stay again should we be visiting Knysna in future. If you are in the area you are likely to be driving and the Blue Oyster is well located just off the main road but far enough up the hill for a fantastic view of Knysna and also a quiet nights sleep.

One thing I always look for in a stay is a good and powerful shower..... the ones here are great!!!!

Also, I love a good swim but did not have time for a swim/laze in the sun but the pool looked great and I will have to use it up next time.

We stayed two nights and was there by default so had not researched the accommodation, wellllll what a fantastic surprise we had. We stayed in a double room with big dressing room and en-suite bathroom and shower. The room was more like you would have in a 5 star hotel. The room has a large windowed big balcony overlooking the lagoon, it must be the best view of Knysna. Vanessa, the owner, could not do enough to make our stay so wonderful. The pool area was very clean and extremely tastefully decorated. We have travelled the world and stayed in many B and Bs as well as Hotels. I have to say that The Blue Oyster is on top of our list. I really hope to visit again and have no hesitation in highly recommending the accommodation, be it, a holiday, a business trip or romantic weekend.

Room Tip: We had a room on the second floor

Lovely welcome from Vanessa, full of all the information you need to best experience the local area. We had the Attica room with a lovely view but with the unfortunate downside of the bathroom being across the corridor. Although, Vanessa had already told us this in advance and assured us it wasn't shared. In fact, we were the only guests probably due to time of year. This combined with the lovely homely feel of the place made it feel more like a private holiday home rental..
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend blue oyster to anyone. It is up a steep hill rising out of the centre of town which to us was in no way negative. It simply meant the views were stunning and the evenings peaceful.

We stayed 5 nights in Blue Oyster and had the most fabulous room and with balcony and superb view over the lagoon. Vanessa and the staff at the Guest House could not have been more helpful or friendly and made every part of our stay memorable. Breakfasts were excellent and freshly cooked. We certainly hope to be back some day.
