All the glowing reviews on this site are accurate. The chalets are very private, birds singing in the trees, attentive staff...uncrowded and peaceful. We felt like were royalty. I wish we were still there.

On our arrival my heart sank, as i feel the garden and surroundings could do with a good clean up and TLC. However, on getting to our cabin, with the immediate assistance from the staff we were pleasantly surprised. Our entire weekend was met with fantastic breakfasts in our room, a fire all the time, stunning service at the spa. Clean, crisp white linen, daily service to clean the room. We enjoyed every minute.

My husband and I stayed at Tonquani Lodge in 2005 and had a wonderful experience...we recently returned with friends and family and had an equally wonderful experience. The facilities at Tonquani are really fantastic, every necessity and luxury is provided to ensure that guests feel at home. The friendly and helpful staff once again made us feel very welcome and we will most definitely be staying at Tonquani again when we next visit the Garden Route.

Room Tip: We stayed in a log cabin and our friends and family stayed in the spacious rooms behind the receptio...

Absolutely awesome weekend!!! Eventhough the weekend was full of rain and dreary weather, we enjoyed the comfort and time there. We especially enjoyed the spa day and of course the execution of the room set up for my proposal :-) I commend the hospitality of the staff and thankyou for the briliant service. The rooms are so comfortable and top class. Thanks to everyone at Tonquani for going the extra mile that just made our engagement weekend all the more special and memorable! You have a wonderful establishment and we are definitely going to return for an extended period of time the next time around.

Thanks you guys.

Really a wonderful place to stay. Shelly and Brendon were very attentive and friendly. Everything was taken care of. The rooms are (really) awesome. Just the bathroom was bigger than my bedroom at home! The spa treatment was top class. And the breakfasts were fantastic.

The weather was terrible and it rained non-stop, so we spent a lot of time indoors watching sport and socialising with friends. Our stay was like home away from home and very enjoyable. The rate is extremely good and competitive. The value and facilities far exceeded my expectations for what we had paid.

Tonquani Lodge, and its staff, deserve each of its 5 starts twice over. We really had a great time staying there and will recommend it to friends and family.

this is a truly beautiful place. Just when I was starting to doubt finding anything that looked remotely like what I booked on the internet - we ended our road trip here and it was exactly like the internet described.
It was so lovely we decided to stay an extra night. The cabins are absolutely warm and welcoming that you don't want to actually go out. Unfortunately the lodge does not offer dinner so you need to venture into town.
The staff was exceptionally helpful - even came each night to light our fireplace.
The breakfast was amazing - my daughter LOVED the pancakes and danish treasts :)
The garden is so peaceful with the birds chirping - I took some lovely videos with the kids walking about with the birds in the background.
And I have to mention the amenities in the room - the moisteriser was FANTASTIC - I had to buy when I left.

From arrival to our departure, every moment was amazing! The staff, the management, the chalet, the breakfast, the pool, the slippers, the everything was more than expected. Special attention is given to every detail, the fresh flowers throughout the chalet, welcoming coffe on our private deck and a extra heater for the cold... Our 2 and a half year old is calling Tonquani her "wooden home" - it must be partly due to the way Tonquani incorporates the natural beauty and wildlife into the 5 star accomodation, it's heaven for both children and adults!

Room Tip: All of them
