We weren't sure what to expect after climbing the hill to Kanonkop Guest House (in our car!) as you enter a beautifully landscaped property that looks like a luxury home. The beauty is that the owners have created an experience that is akin to staying in their home with them (but with privacy) complete with stylish luxurious rooms and amazing views of Knysna lagoon. The rooms are equipped with everything you'd need including a nice ipod dock and TV, good strong wifi (extra points for that!) and the house is so well built that even with guests above us we heard no other noise. Only the power adaptors proved tricky as they had surrounds on them that didn't like our multizone plugs! :-( Breakfasts were a good chance to meet the family and get valuable insider advice tailored to requirements (for us it was all about National Park hikes and I'd highly recommend both Robberg Peninsula and Nature's Valley - both stunning!). Pretty much any food cooked to order was available for brekkie and we ate more than we should have. Icing on the cake was finding our car washed each morning (had it been my personal car I would have appreciated this even more but it was a rental so I felt guilty for the guy that washed it!!) and the lovely photobook we received as a parting gift. And you were right Mark and Chris, Route 62 was a great diversion back to CT. Thanks again.
