There is something about African Breeze Guest House that makes you feel totally relaxed the moment you arrive. It is difficult to pinpoint the reasons exactly but it probably has something to do with the peace and tranquility, the safety and security of being on an island with controlled access, the truly five star accommodation and facilities, the proximity to the beach, the friendly service and the generous breakfasts. Try it for yourself and you will find it very difficult to leave

Arrived here on our trip of the garden route. The B&B itself is beautiful and spotless clean, the rooms are very spacious with free WIFI and cable tv. The breakfast was fantastic, the waiter couldn't have been more pleasant. The coffee was the best I had in ZA! I rate the B&B highly for all the above points but... I would not stay here again as I felt the hostess (while nice) was very invasive to our privacy. Again while she was attempting to help us find our way etc we had an uncomfortable time being in her company.

On arrival there was a warm welcome from Steve and Paris as if we were old friends - a nice touch. The rooms are spacious with superb en-suite bathrooms and large showers. The kids were particularly happy with the free Cable TV and wireless internet. We loved the pool and loungers after long days out. Leisure island is quiet and was great to ride around on the bikes (which are provided too).
Breakfast? Like everything else - excellent.
We will definitely go back again.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but we cannot understand the rave reviews that this place receives. We stayed once and would not return. The rooms are lovely but there is no outlook at all - except onto the swimming pool. The weather was very hot when we stayed and the bedrooms do not have air conditioning - and our ceiling fan was the slowest. Sleep was difficult in those conditions (and that's from someone who spent years in Saudi Arabia!). We cannot understand how it is now rated 5 Star when the far superior Amanzi (which has fantastic views) on Leisure Island only has 4 Stars. Opinion? Over-rated, overpriced.

We would like to respnd to some of the points made in this review.
Regardsing our views, we are not located on the waters edge and we therefore don't advertise as having good views. We are however located only about 50 meters from the lagoon and we make up for the lack of views by being 5 star, offering great hospitality and a lovely pool area which is sheltered from the wind when it is too windy to swim in the lagoon.
Regarding our rates, please compare these as you will find that we are less expensive than the lower graded 4 star waterfront guest houses.
We appreciated the constructive criticism about the ceiling fan being too slow as we have now lengthened the chain switch to ensure that our guests can easily set the fan to a higher speed as required.

We originally booked for two nights but stayed three. the rooms are large clean & beautifully furnished, Paris & her staff go to no end of trouble to ensure that your stay is a pleasant as it possibly can be. We were there just after the couple who experienced the cockroach problem - Paris told us about it herself - & we saw no problem & neither did any of the guests who were there. The pool area & its furniture are beautiful, clean and extremely inviting. Leisure Island itself is clean, safe & very quiet, an ideal place to stay.
