“Great value!!”
Reviewed 21 May 2014

Our family of 4 stayed as Amanzi Island Lodge recently, and it was absolutely fantastic. Brilliant location, very friendly and helpful staff. Luxury and comfort was what we had. My kids wanted to "steal" the matresses!!! Lovely. Thanks so much!!

Room Tip: Ask for room facing the Heads. Beautiful view.

The location, the room and the staff are best in class! Thanks for an absolute perfect knysna experience! We stayed in 15 different Lodges during our journey on the garden route, Amanzi was one of the best.

We stay at Amanzi every year when we visit Knysna and just love it. Perfect location and great hospitality. Booked for 2015 already. Possibly could do with a few extra umbrellas round the pool and on balconies.

Room Tip: Overlooking the lagoon is our first choice.

Stayed in February this year at the end of our Garden Route tour. A lovely b & b way above expectations, large, clean and very comfortable room overlooking the water. Breakfast on the deck was substantial with great views. A great way to start the day. Lovely helpful staff who also arrange transport to restaurants, local ones are free and others inexpensive. Great to be able to borrow the bikes for a ride around the island, nice and flat. Would certainly recommend and would stay there again if ever we are nearby.

Room Tip: I would think all rooms would be of a high standard.

Firstly, I owe Amanzi lodge a big apology - I stayed there in November 2013, and forgot to post this review! We had a wonderful 2 weeks in South Africa, and our stay here was one of the highlights.

Firstly the welcome, the staff could not do enough for us, from advising us where to go, even through to providing transport in the evening, so we could enjoy a drink or two - faultless! Then the room - Wow - we had the top floor room, with a wonderful balcony overlooking the head and lagoon, 2 bathrooms - it was a very special room, in a very special place. Finally that special touch - this was our honeymoon, and we were greeted with a bottle of champagne on ice, chocolates and rose petals everywhere - sitting on the balcony, overlooking the lagoon, sipping champagne - well that is an experience not to be missed.

I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Room Tip: If you can get the top floor suite it is worth paying a little bit extra for!! ps - I have ticked...

Arrived at The Amanzi Lodge after a long drive from Cape Town and was delighted to have a friendly welcome and was shown to a lovely room, spacious and beautifully decorated. I was served with a very welcome pot of tea and a complimentary teacake which was kind. A very pretty location - just a shame about the rain which prevented me from using the kayak which I would love to have done to explore the harbour. The bath was wonderful and loved the luxurious products provided free of charge. Bed extremely comfortable. Good breakfast in the morning. Went to another guest house restaurant up the road that evening for supper. the starter and sweet were very good but my main course of fish was not to my liking. The fish tasted strange. Fortunately they didn't charge me for it. Enjoyed my brief stay in this pretty estuary... just a shame about the rain.

Room Tip: Try and get a room overlooking the estuary, the side room was fine but I wished I had a view.

Amanzi Island Lodge is a wonderful place to stay. You are facing the famous Knysna lagoon and can walk along the beach. This is really a "slow" experience. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. The bedrooms are stunning. Everything is right.
