This was our second tour with Luhambo with the brilliant guide called Marlene. She was really wonderful, friendly and very informative but without going over the top with too much factual information but instead some great facts with some nice stories and a few laughs thrown in for good measure. Marlene got to know us all individually and took time to learn about things that would be interesting to us so to mould the tour to suit us. We were drinking MCC (SA Champagne) by 10am so a good start to the day. We did 2 wine tours in the morning followed by lunch at the 3rd place. As there was only 4 of us on the tour (the Cape of Good Hope and Constantia Winelands we did before had 8 of us which was also brilliant) we were pretty wine'd out after the 3rd tasting session and we all decided to skip the last one and take a walk around Franschhoek Town instead and Marlene was happy to do this and let us have a bit of us time. As Mandela had passed away the night before she offered to take us to the Boland Mountain Complex Park where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned before he was finally released, which was a special moment to take pictures of the statue outside the prison with flowers and cards all around it. We also managed to write a few words in a book to commemorate his life. This was an amazing way to end the day. What makes Luhambo Tours great and Marlene especially, is that she was happy to change the schedule to suit us and still think of other things that she knew we would be interested in. A fantastic tour I highly recommend!! Thanks

On my recent trip to Cape Town, we were able to schedule a tour with the wonderful, Marlene. She picked us up at our hotel and took us around the city. We chose the sightseeing and winery tour which included the Cape of Good Hope, penguins, the lighthouse climb, lunch (which was not included in the fee), and two wonderful wineries. The tour was fantastic. Marlene was full of knowledge and humor and she kept us laughing all day. The wineries were beautiful and we had plenty to sample. I would recommend this tour to anyone and everyone visiting Cape Town. It's a fantastic value, great way to see the city, and you get to try some wonderful wineries as well. This is a perfect way to squeeze more sights/activities into your trip!

We booked a wine & dine tour and was one of our highlights of our trip to Cape Town. Our guide Cedric was very knowledgeable and friendly who made the trip a day to remember. There were only three of us on the day which gave a relaxed feel and Cedric could tailor the day to suit our wine tastes. The day consisted of 6 wine tastings, lunch and dinner, both meals were delicious in beautiful surroundings. I can't say anything negative about the day so to anyone looking to book a trip to the vineyards whilst in Cape Town, I can't recommend Luhambo Tours highly enough.

This was a perfect day. Cedric provided an impeccable day of wine and education of the areas wine industry ....and wine in general. From the moment I contacted them via email to schedule the tour everything was handled perfectly. We were picked up in an impeccable vehicle and Cedric got information about our wine tastes and interest to customize which wineries we visited I could not have asked or thought of anything more. I would recommend then very highly to anyone looking to taste, see, and learn. I can't wait to return to again in the future

We booked this tour company after reading several other reviews and we were not disappointed. Our 11.20am pick-up from our hotel in central Cape Town was on time and we were pleasantly surprised to discover there was only one other couple touring with us. The car was very modern and comfortable to ride in and our guide Graham was very informative which kept our interest on the journey to Stellenbosch.

We started off visiting one wine estate which we toured and had 6 wine tastings. This was followed by lunch at a restaurant where our table overlooked a spectacular view of the winelands and where the food was delicious and of superb quality. The 5 of us all sat together on one table so we got to know more about each other which was nice. The second wine estate (also 6 tastings) in Stellenbosch had equally amazing views with its position on a lake with mountains and vineyards all around - gorgeous.

We then drove to Franschhoek and visited two more wine estates (a further 12 tastings!). These estates were also beautifully appointed. Beware though at one of these estates that they may charge you extra for tasting certain wines (often the reserves) which they don't always make very clear.

The day ended on the main street in Franschhoek at a restaurant called 'The French Connection'. This was also excellent - food, service and ambience were all of supreme quality and I believe reviews on this restaurant also exist on this website. Our guide Graham was very flexible about how long we all wanted to stay at the restaurant so we didn't feel rushed at all. However, after a full afternoon of wine tasting we were all quite tired by 8.45pm so decided to finish up then and make our way back to Cape Town. What we didn't expect on our way back was to be treated by Graham to some star-gazing! He even had a clever laser pointer on his phone that he could use to point out constellations and planets! This rounded off the day perfectly before reaching our hotel in Cape Town just after 10pm.
