This was our second tour with Luhambo with the brilliant guide called Marlene. She was really wonderful, friendly and very informative but without going over the top with too much factual information but instead some great facts with some nice stories and a few laughs thrown in for good measure. Marlene got to know us all individually and took time to learn about things that would be interesting to us so to mould the tour to suit us. We were drinking MCC (SA Champagne) by 10am so a good start to the day. We did 2 wine tours in the morning followed by lunch at the 3rd place. As there was only 4 of us on the tour (the Cape of Good Hope and Constantia Winelands we did before had 8 of us which was also brilliant) we were pretty wine'd out after the 3rd tasting session and we all decided to skip the last one and take a walk around Franschhoek Town instead and Marlene was happy to do this and let us have a bit of us time. As Mandela had passed away the night before she offered to take us to the Boland Mountain Complex Park where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned before he was finally released, which was a special moment to take pictures of the statue outside the prison with flowers and cards all around it. We also managed to write a few words in a book to commemorate his life. This was an amazing way to end the day. What makes Luhambo Tours great and Marlene especially, is that she was happy to change the schedule to suit us and still think of other things that she knew we would be interested in. A fantastic tour I highly recommend!! Thanks
